I did race the old steel frame Hondas as pro rider for 17 year. I try a few aluminium chassis over the years! Still to this day I prefer the old chassi. Whit my works setup from Öhlins and we did spring up a lot those days so they was not to soft go flat out on 4th gear. I did race a lot in Belgium and Holland and I did have a 7,1kg/mm rear spring and 580kg/mm front springs to be able to keep the speed true 45min of racing we had those long races back in 80s. I did not see if the bike had an hydraulic clutch that is tremendous benefit! Good video like how you compare those two in modern style. Best regards from Scandinavia and Sweden 🇸🇪

I have a 86, 87 CR500. 01 CR500 in a 09 CRF frame. Aluminum vibrates more to the point of being annoying. Best frame conversion is the KTM frames. Best stock bike is the 87.

Old steel frame looks like it turns better

I don't own a Honda I do have what I believe to be a comparable Keg of dynamite 🧨 a 1996 KTM 360. That new version is sexy got to say so myself.
