Now I have to say that I have never seen this good DC01 demonstration. And I totally agree with you about the twin cyclone design. I have personally always liked it just the way it is.

The nice thing about all Dyson uprights is how the hose inlet port is placed at the base of the machine. That's really a nice feature because with machines that have the hose inlet port placed high up on the body of the unit, when you're using the tools they fall over really easily.
Have you noticed the difference in suction power from this model to the de Stijl. I don’t know why they used different motors in the de Stijl and some of the base DC01s. Those motors had no suction especially through the hose but these motors they used on this and the next DC01s in the line up were amazing. Really powerful. Mind you this one with the fixed nozzle plate always felt more powerful that the newer one with the adjustable nozzle plate. That demo you did on here with the hose. Try doing that with a de Stijl or the base DC01 with the same motor as the de Stijl The suction is around 80% less
Ahh yes, the one my grandparents had when I was little. Was later handed down to my Mum and I (along with their Creda tumble dryer and 21" Ferguson / Thomson TV of around the same age) but all died in around 2009 or 2010, though I later acquired their JVC UX-A4 micro stereo in 2015 and that's still going :-P
I have one new inside the box well I did get the vac out the box . But when I turned it on it lost suction every thing was unclogged , also the filters are alright but I don’t know what it’s clogged
My dc01 makes a horrible vibration noise when belt is off it's nice and quiet brush bar if changed the top housing of changed and also belt with no luck do u think I need a new soleplate housing
Lovefish Hmm, could it be the motor? The motor fans generally get covered in dust after all these years and throw it off balance, causing the whole machine to make a racket.
Is Dual Cyclone technology obsolete? I have noticed other vacuum manufacturers using dual cyclonic technology (Hoover, Bissell, Dirt Devil, etc.) but Dyson hasn't used it for years.
@@CORNERofTECH Dyson protected their technology with patents, meaning it can't be copied. Once the patent runs out, it can be copied by other manufacturers.
OK. Is it bad that I still have mine ? And I did not know half of what you demonstrated. I feel like I've just got a new one all over again. It was a wedding present last century. From my brother in law who worked at Dyson as an electrician. I think I just use it how I always use it rather than remembering all the things you can do. I had no idea, just as one example, that there is a port for the attachments ! I won't tell you what else I learned, it's embarrassing how little I knew. And mine has the grey colour because I use it then store it in an under the stairs cupboard. In the dark.
