Call me nuts if you want, but I'd rather own and drive this every day over 99% of the newer vehicles out there. Still a very nice looking car after all these years, shame you don't see them on the road much anymore.
I own a 95 Mustang GT and a 94 Probe GT. I love driving them both as well as working on them. Driving newer vehicles just doesn't feel the same. My commute to work isn't long but it's always fun with having a 5-speed manual transmission and a V6 or V8 under the hood :)
I was thinking the other day about that exact car thinking those have got to be rare. Early 2000s? You rarely ever saw one. Then this pops up! Go figure. I remember test driving a 94 I think it was? I test drive the GT model. It was a quick and nimble little wind up thing! It was a great car. I don't know why they stopped making those. I see the comments on newer cars. Personally? I hate SUVs and such. What's left? Not a lot. There aren't that many American cars that to me are worth a damn. Some? They've got potential but executives this, bean counters that, etc. Most of what appeals to me today falls into 2 categories: foreign and expensive as hell. Lol.
This was my dad's car for many years. Always kept in the garage. When we went to pick it up he paid $10K cash for it at Eby Ford in Nappanee Indiana. I'm glad to see it's still in great shape.
Very nice! I have always been a fan of the second generation Ford Probe GT and this car is in AMAZING condition. Thank you for sharing. I really hope more of these cars are restored and kept around.

In 2001 I bought a second hand 1994 European Ford Probe 24v with the V6 2.5 163 HP engine from Mazda. It was the same car as shown in the video with a few differences such no cruise control,interior black panels,cloth fabric seats,no rear spoiler,no chrome alloy wheels(had the alumminum 5 spoke) the rear taillights had orange color for the turning lights and the rear lights in the GT had two the European had one on the right taillight(In UK and Australia on the left tailight because of right handed drive),the center catadroptic plastic didn't had the GT logo) nor in between cargo chest.The pop up lights had a plastic triangle on the hood making them a bit smaller than of the GT due to European safety regulations.The late 1996-7 models had the option of tan leather seats and interior panels.The five speed manual transmission was very precise and fun to drive and I had until I bought a 2006 Mazda 6 MPS(Mazdaspeed in the US) with the Probe 24v as a part of the payment.Never had any serious mechanical issue just normal maintenance but had to change the CV bearing after it broke.Changed shocks and springs and sparks but as I said earlier no big problem in all the years I had the car.Thanks for the video. A follow up to my previous comment... I just Finally put on a new Cat and the two O2 sensors...mines a 94, obd1 so it has only the one cat ...it sounds alot smoother and breaths better on top ...it also added torque to the bottom end as well...I didnt think the previous cat was restricting it but it was....These cars are So analog and convey so much in terms of road feel and driving sensations, that whenevr ive test driven newer cars, im shocked at how much is Missing..for that reason, even though they are faster for sure, they arent even remotely as involving or as fun to drive... Not to mention ,most new cars sound pretty bad compared to one of these...
My Dad had a 96 with Eibach Pro Kit lowering springs and some aftermarket wheels. I snuck out and drove it around Los Angeles when I was about 12 years old. I thought it was the coolest thing ever.

I’m so glad these cars are so underrated ! Call me crazy but I been dreaming to own of these cars since a kid(uncle’s probe), these are CHEAP builds if you know what your doing. Definitely getting one in the next couple months & build it from the bottom all the way to the top 🤙🏼

From the 90s when the sport coupe was in its heyday. Twin of the Mazda mx6. Base had a weak 4 banger, GT had the smooth yet torquey Mazda 2.5 V6 and was about as quick as an Integra gsr or stock turbo eclipse/talon back in the day. A buddy had a Probe GT I had a turbo eclipse...had some fun racing around in them. Of course as soon as I did bolt ons and turned up the boost my car was in another league as the eclipse was the pre-evo.
alot like my 94 gt but ur is in way better condition! had mine since new, driven almost everyday for last 28yrs ,all stock..... ur engine is Butter smooth, im envious bro! mines alot more ragged with a rasp and a growl to it.. I can hear the vris opening above 4 grand in mine... mine always been slow for most of its life though..no check engine lights, and runs fine, just more like a 4 banger, powerwise... never did figure it out and its a pity cuz its a sweet engine and makes nice sounds... my disty is new, plug wires good, the VRIS is confirmed working , so im at a loss...
We had a 1993 GT V6 with grey leather from new and original exhaust even though this one is pretty clean couldn’t be match it had A sound almost similar to the Volvo 850s exhaust just when they were new. It just hummed. Also you could grab the hell out of this car almost like a VTEC and it would not complain. we took our overseas and they are known back in the day to register at 140 but the needles way past 140Mph
Very clean Probe for sure, but why do these cars have some of the worst cup holder locations ever made 😭 I miss mine, but I definitely don’t miss the spot they picked for that lol.
Y'all got the rose colored nostalgia glasses on. This car was a piece. The svt contour and focus both superior to this and we're still no faster then a rsx. Just because there isn't any still running let's not act like this was ever a sports car
