I drive a 94 LS400 with 1,100,000 million miles on the clock and she’s still going strong, all the lights buttons switches still work, still feels brand new, a true testimony to the incredible build quality of these machines, 30 years on she’s still running like the day she rolled off the line
In 2007 I was thinking about buying a large sedan, I decided on the S500, I should have bought the LS, from what I see, much more durable. I don't know the things that may have broken in the Lexus, in mine the gearbox had to be opened, at 600,000 km I had to change segments in the engine due to low compression in one cylinder.
Well, my piece of licks-ass crap, a 1996 LS 400, started going off the rails after THREE months. I will NEVER buy another Asian vehicle, especially not another Turd-ota product!
you probably dont give a shit but does anybody know a method to get back into an instagram account? I stupidly lost my password. I love any help you can give me
@Ramon Ridge I really appreciate your reply. I got to the site through google and Im waiting for the hacking stuff atm. Looks like it's gonna take quite some time so I will get back to you later with my results.
beautiful. This car is the reason lexus has made success like they have today. no ls400 no lexus brand. deserves more respect then any lexus ever made.
NoH8 What he means is that the Lexus LS400 is the foundation that put Lexus on the map. Everything after that is only secondary which helped to further the success of the brand.
I remember being the proud young owner of of a 1988 Toyota Corolla and then seeing this car in the dealership - I looked at this LS in the dealership and just stared at it for long , long time . That ‘ Relentless pursuit of perfection ‘ statement really got me . It was everything I aspired to be in my career. So many years later - Although I never Purchased one - I love this car and what it stood for.
Bought 91 LS 400 for 1500. This car is total beauty inside out. I am amazed Toyota has used such advanced technology in this car back in 1990. I am gonna keep it for ever.
AI3xZJE41 YT probably a lot but that chevy lt1 has 25 less hp even tho it has 1.7L more of displacement and isn’t built to the same quality or standard as the 1uz. if your 1uz doesn’t make it to at least 250k u did something wrong. don’t compare chevy and lexus.
Niiiice, Featuring my very champagne color & year of my '95 LS, restores my excitement, wow 22 years and it's hard to see it as old, more vintage, still super reliable @ 158k & cleans up impressively
I have a 1996 LS400 with 195,000mi Just getting raedy to do a starter on it. I have replaced many parts and work on it myself, most of the repairs have been preventive maintenance. The car runs smooth, and out of 6 cars I owned this is the best one by far. Love it
As an Australian I watch the start of this video showing the "winged keel" of the yacht...and then I think of the man responsible...his name was Ben Lexcen. He designed the "canting" keel which helped Australia win the Admiral's cup in 1983. Lexus...Lexcen ...spooky. I've had my Lexus LS400 for 24 years...fantastic car.
I still have my '95! It has only 170,000 miles on it. I did put in a lot of money into it: three alternators, two starters, new rack, power steering pump, and a new timing belt; I'm ready to go another 170,000 miles. Still a very smooth ride, and is just as comfy as today's luxury cars.
These were the best years for the LS and the W140, I loved seeing them in-person as a young child, it was almost like seeing a celebrity, mother and father stubbornly maintained their love for American luxury with their Town Car and Fleetwood, while I loved them, they seemed so "nostalgic" compared to the LS and W140.
Just scored a 2000 LS400 Platinum Edition in pearl white for $1500. Other than not being able to connect to the OBD2 for the emissions inspection, it’s great.
I just got a 94 ls 400 needs some t.l.c. 276,000 miles running great no oil burning , I’m now a Lexus owner for life as far as I’m concerned, Lexus and Toyota are 🤴
I have a 1999 mk4, quite simply the best car on the planet bar none. Unparalleled levels of smoothness, quietness, comfort, engineering and reliability.
I have a 1998, it isn't really that quiet. Lexus fooled early buyers by placing foam all over the areas where wind hits and over time they deteriorate. Mercedes on the other hand puts quietness in the early engineering steps. LS400 is still an exceptional smooth car though. It stays planted under harsh road conditions.
My first car was a 93LS400 that I paid for in cash when I was in High School. It was the greatest car I have ever driven. Even after owning BMWs and Mercedes of newer models, I still respect this car the most. This car was my adolescece, it was a part of my identity. It was quieter than a Rolls Royce, it felt smoother than a womans buttocks. Turning the steering wheel felt like marshmellows. The sound system was legendary, and many party nights ended in glorious rides home in this car. No kidding, broads that I barely knew in hs used to literally jump into the car and say, "Take me with you." The back seat had plenty of room, I even remember taking a few chicks back there because they insisted on it. 😏😏 The ladies loved to ride in it... And they even loved to ride me in it. Not that the car was everything; certainly your wisdom, knowledge and understanding will always draw attention from the opposite sex. However, the LS400 was a machine built to compliment the integrity of a man who would never forsake his confidence. A man that would take her around the city, giving her the feeling of safety and assurance of security, while courting her during a time well spent.
Currently have a 95 LS of that exact color and look. At 221k miles she wasn't perfect but i love everything about her and she's one of the best first cars im sure one can get.
When I first bought mine, I accidentally tried cranking it while it was already on because it runs so smooth and quiet! I didn’t realize it was even on!
these Lexi commercials always remind me of very concerned but wealthy Carnegie hall frequenters... heart surgeons, cello players and overly responsible "higher class" folk. the relentless pursuit of perfection.
Lexus has created a work of art when this car was built. I been in these cars growing up when they were brand new.It introduced almost every luxury feature when it was released. The smoothness reliability and comfort of this car is to die for.It truly is something very special and this car holds the Lexus name up very high.We Lexus fanatics is very proud of this car because it redefined what luxury is all about and teached all the brands including all the German companies how to make a better luxury car.It is definitely if not the most important car in history and also Acura.
Back when they had something to prove and it was all or nothing for their brand. Great car, I should have kept it. Never a better one since. - 1998 LS400
I've picked up some whispers that the earlier models had a lot more attention to fit detail and material when they were trying to knock BMW and M-B off their perch. In other words, Toyota was ready to sacrifice and not make a ton on each car, and throw in higher spec parts than was even necessary to make their statement. Then, gradually as they rose to dominance, certain components just edged back into Toyota quality, which was still enough to keep Lexus ahead. In other words, the Japanese bean-counters were finally consulted and they said, "Who's to know? Let's make some money!" So, we owners are beneficiaries of Toyota's billion-dollar assault and strive for perfection, the way I see it.
When I was a little wealthy back in 1998 I bought a 1991 LS400 with 37000miles genuine. Used to do 120 miles a day. The salesman said the type of journey I was doing the car would return 30mpg UK and it did just that. The car came with Dunlop D8 tyres. After a few years of body roll I was advised to change to Michlin premicy tyres what a fantastic improvement. Bought for 17500uk 1998 sold for 2500uk 2005 what a great car never forget the experience .
One of my friend's grandfather gave him his 1996 LS 400 with almost 300 K miles on it when I bought a new 2019 LS. The LS from 1997 rides better And seals far more luxurious then the newer design
