I'm a Celtic supporter and I grew up watching Davie Cooper play for Rangers and Scotland(should of had loads more caps btw) , he really was one of the greatest players there ever was. Modern so called "greats" could have learned so much from Davie, not just the skills he had but also the manner in which he played the game. This guy loved his Rangers, a true Rangers man of that time. An absolute tragedy dying so young with still so much left to offer.
I said the same - keep your Laudrup's & Larssons Davie Cooper would bring Michael Schumacher to his feet with his skill. Tommy Burns was mourned equally on both sides as well.
I never got the chance to see him play (I was born in '96), unfortunately. I've seen many videos of him, though. What a player and an absolute legend, 👌.
So sad. what a player. I was 11 when he died and remember watching him on the football program he died on. STV done a great tribute to him. r.i.p to one of the best
Speaking as a die hard Tim Davie Cooper was sublime, the most skilful and entertaining player of his generation, the game just cry's out for players like him but unfortunately they don't come around very often.
davie cooper (supper cooper) will live forever in our hearts not just for the clubs he played for & he loved playing for his country SCOTLAND one of our scottish heros r.i.p
Davie Cooper was incredible Unbelievable. Colin O'Neill played in MOTHERWELL TEAM.I MISSED BY 40SECONDS FROM MEETING HIM AT HAMPDEN PARK 1985. DAVEY THE LEGEND.
those malaysians who follow the legendary SHOOT mags should know how good Davie was even though Scottish football was not broadcasted in Malaysia those years ago.
Davie Cooper passed way to young. He was world class and was beyond his time. Legends may pass away but they dont leave us. It means nothing but i will say im a Celtic man. RIP sir.
his goals that took us to Mexico, that penalty in Cardiff and the tragedy after then that free kick v Australia at a packed Hampden the first Scotland game after Jock Stein died. Slow as a snail but turned as quick as a tornado. smooth as silk and sheer magic
Wat a genius of a player so.privliged I got to see him play all rangers player's now shuld b made watch videos of Davie and see wat the club means was taken to soon 😢😢😢
Davie felt he could still play first team football, and Souness was unable to guarantee that at Ibrox after the arrival of Mark Walters, hence Davie signing for Motherwell where he was assured of a starting place.
Very sad to hear the bigoted sectarian songs coming from the mob at Ibrox just at the start of the film. Davie Cooper would have nothing to do with such hatred and bigotry, Davie was a great player and a gentleman. RIP Davie Cooper.
Was just a boy in primary school when he was taken away. My hero then and still is now when asked to this day messi or ronaldo a still say.. super coop... still shed a tear for cooper...legend
Sad that Scotland haven't produced a player of his quality since he passed, Leigh Griffiths is looking very promising but needs to work on his dribbling skills, But his free kicks are too notch.
You just tried to compare the Beatles to one direction. Totally different class I'm afraid. Leigh is a wee Ned playing in the spl which sadly looks like a pub league these days
