Off road rear bumper with the swing out tire carrier and recovery points are awesome and it keeps your back healthy and vehicles center of gravity low. :)

I built out a 1/2 ton, if I did it again I would want the 2500 option with 14 bolt and 4l80e because my 4l60e exploded on my rig. Sweet build!

The paint de-laminating from the primer has to do with the change in EPA paint regs. It was highly common in ligher colors and for some reason more common on Toyotas and Chevies. My entire 98 Burban hood, roof and back doors peeled; which led me to Linex the whole truck.

Nice build out. How is the Goal Zero being charged? DC to DC charger or perhaps a Continuous Duty Solenoid? The solar panel will help as well of course. Thanks!

Says Vinny , I didn't know you bought them . I've got a 96 2500 4x4 with the 454 . 148,000 mi . I'm second owner , got every piece of paperwork starting with the build sheet . It's always pulled a small trailer and I pull a 20' cargo camper I built . This truck has been babied . Both of us owners are senior citizens . I keep it covered and drive it about 12 miles a month . I'm in Central Fla. near Daytona . If interested , leave me a comment . Your pal Vinny .

just out of curiosity how much were you guys charging for this Suburban? This is exactly the vehicle that I'm looking for. I'm going to get a cargo trailer to convert and need the suburban to pull it with. I would like another solar panel up top.

We do a level in the front with new torsion keys and a 1" block in the rear. We buy them private party.

Great builds and plenty of inspiration! I just recently bought a 2004 Suburban. Although it runs and drives great the black paint/clearcoat is badly sunburnt. My wife loves the color and two tone scheme of this rig. Does anyone know the paint code for this green? We eventually want to have it repainted like this. Thanks!

How the heck do you find a 2500 with the 350!? That's ideal for anyone without loads of toys to haul. I've been shopping for a gmt400 burb for about a month and didn't know GM made that combo.

What do you think about the oil consumption problems on the newer suburbans? If the lifters are replaced is that a good thing?

Just plug in a Range Technology DOD deleter so it stays in v8 mode. Dirty oil and 2010 and earlier DODs are the problem years. It’s only one mile per gallon difference in full time V8 mode.

Had a 1968 Suburban with two bunks built against the sides in back. It was comfortable and convenient for the 10,000 mile trip from Chicago to Alaska and back.

It’s a catch twenty two with the 3/4 and 1 ton Suburbans. They have the heavy duty axles, lugs and brakes, but a lot of extra weight that sucks for driving in mud, sand, snow and up steep inclines. They make heavy duty CV off-road axles now if you don’t want to do a front axle swap on the lighter 1500 Suburbans. Does Suboverland offer them?

If you know you will never tow anything really heavy, do you think a 1/2 ton would be plenty? I like the ride of the half ton.

Second Act 1500 would be fine, they can tow to, not as much as the others though.

I ran 285s on my 93 Burban. You will have to trim the front bumper and fenders, but it's doable.

Recently bought a 1996 GMC K2500 with the 454. Has some issues, but its all there and needs some elbow grease. Two things: The stance on that with the minor lift and the 33s looks AWESOME. That green with the light autumwood metallic lower is REALLY good looking. I had an Excursion with a sage green top with gold lower, great combo!
