The legendary house of upsets claimed a major one today when the filly My Flag was outrun in the Alabama within sight of a division championship, while Yanks Music won the race and staked a claim of her own.
My Flag, trapped in traffic at a creeping pace for most of the mile-and-a-quarter route, finally got the chance to run to daylight in the homestretch. But it was too late to unfurl the mighty kick that made her the juvenile champion last year and established her as the best 3-year-old filly this year.
