Starting the process of upgrading the front end of the track bike to a 2008 GSXR 1000 K8 front end. First step is the brake rotors on the front wheel.

people used to buy cheap old racers (pre-2000) because they where cheap, and when you crashed on track, it wouldnt be too expensive to be replaced/repair. the new weird trend is to buy a cheap bike (like the one in the video), spend about 10-15k on parts to turn it into a full-on track bike and race it on the track... why not just buy a modern 15k bike, spend about 2-5k on track parts that will break?

@@peterthomas1079 the ride should reflect the speed... and everyone can enjoy things at his own pace.... but from the videos ive seen, this guy does NOT need these brakes, or the suspension or especially the tires warmers and track tires... regular street tires will do just fine for his riding speed...

@@peterthomas1079 I mean on track. You first take a standard bike, with road tires, and when you outgrow the brakes, you get better brakes, then you upgrade suspension... When you outgrow the tires and reach their limit, you go to slick with maybe even tire warmers... This guy does not reflect the capabilities of his bike, from the videos he's maybe at 10% capability of what the bike can do. A normaal street bike with street tires and brakes, that's where he is at. And maybe even 60% capability of that street bike. That's what I meant with, let the bike reflect the rider.

Thanks for the comment. I really like the SRAD as a platform, and tinkering on it is as much fun as riding it around. Some people just like the older bikes.

You're right on the speed, with any luck that will increase with more track time. I've taken it super slowly getting back into riding after a long time away. Goal this season is to get into the next fastest group on the track days.

@@Roostabergers that's good to hear! But seeing all the amazing parts you put on the bike, I think you are at 5-10% of what the bike can do 😅. I hope you will get higher on it. Also, you are using slicks, with tire warmers. You might have noticed that the tires have pretty good grip when you start riding out of the pits, but the grip fades over time. It will be because you aren't riding hard enough. These tires need hard riding to get and maintain temperature... So my tip is, IF you are experiencing this, just switch to a more street/track tire. Like the michelin pilot power 2ct, or the pirelli diablo rosso corsa if you become a little faster
