I made this walkaround video of the Yotato for my fellow Camry Krew group members a little while ago and figured I may as well revive the channel here- its been too long!
Absolutely one of the best! They built it to grab market share to compete with the Accord and the Taurus- Toyota made very little profit off this gen Camry specifically, because it was built to Lexus standards and priced as a slightly larger Corolla. Outsold its competitors ever since.
My 97 Celica has the same engine (5S-FE) and has 310,000 on the clock...but she hit a snag last year. Apparently, Toyota had a batch of bad capacitors that go bad after 26 years (instead of 60). This caused my car to quit all over the place, and it took over a year to finally catch the gremlin. Welp, at least in the meantime, my buddy and I changed just about every other part, so she's not only running like new, in large part, she IS a new car again. lol
Nice car. The simplicity of these are sweet. I have a gen 3 prius and over 150k they get to be maintenance queens. Would rather have one of these tbh. I think overall cost of ownership over 400k is less with these lol
Nice camry man, I just inherited a 96 camry from my father when he passed away. I want to make it mint b/c he loved the car to death, these are great cars. I want that rear center csi panel I cant find it anywhere lol.
Sorry about your father, I can't even imagine. I'm sure he's love that you're gonna take care of his Camry. You're not going to find a CSi rear panel without finding an Australian Camry enthusiast who will source one for you. If you've got Facebook, join our 3rd & 4th Gen Camry Krew group and ask around. Someone will be able to ship one to you. If you don't like Facebook, you can try Reddit, but our Krew is going to be your best bet. Super awesome community for these cars!
That's pretty cool dude. Own a XV10 2.2 GX with 350k miles on it, still smooth and without problem. desperately needs a paint job but i'm broke haha. Found your video while looking for headlamps. Gonna slowly do it up
@@toyotacamry1239 was the valve cover (again). Turns out piston 1 was sending half its compression into the crankcase due to a bad ring, engine is currently being rebuilt. Might make some videos on it soon.
Great car. Excellent mods. My buddy has the same car also a 96 in gold. I just detailed it. He's getting ready to sell since used car market is red hot in desert southwest. These cars run so well. Super reliable especially with the 2.2 liter four cylinder. What size tires on your 17x9 wheels? Thank you
I like those custom blinds on the back window there. I would definitely consider looking F-14 my Camry. I have a 2000 Camry with 448 K miles. I also live where the sun eat the fuck out of your interior ( Miami Beach) and dark window tint ( like I have) doesn't cut it.
Nice car!! We had a 96 forever, now ive got a 94 wagon 240k finally rusted out, just bought another 94 wagon v6 dark green from Texas no rust really nice car but doesn't run right so Im looking at another 94 wagon to use for parts.. after i drive it all winter.. In Vermont where im at it helps to have spare parts lol.
Nice! I got a blacked out 94 on steelies with a sweet stereo with two 10" infinity reference which I thought was funny lol. Makes me want to do a walk around
Where did you get your headlights? I have a car the same and I'm looking for headlights the same as yours. I would appreciate it if you could answer me.
Highly likely, as its the same chassis. I also own a 97 Avalon, so I can test fit it and get back to you. I reckon it will fit the tops of the struts, but might not clear the top of the 1mz. A brace from a Solara might be a better fit, because that car also came with a 1mz and a stock strut brace
Uh, good question... I'm not sure. My grandmother got the stock antenna stuck on a garage door and ripped the thing out ages ago and this is the antenna it's had for the past like 9 years. Not sure what it is, but I love the way it pokes out to the side all goofy like lol
