Removal and installation of new front wheel bearing hubs and CV shafts on our 2004 Dakota. This process is also the same for 2001 - 2003 dodge Durangos. only 4wd trucks will have cv shafts. The axle nut torque spec is 185 ft lbs, not 800.

How long did it take for one side? What are the possible hiccups in this repair? Lastly, what other parts should be considered to be replaced since the whole suspension area is going to be taken apart?

Should be about an hour for each side, possible hiccups could be bolts breaking (impact gun helps a lot but not mandatory) or a ball joint that's kinda stuck in its home, if you still have the factory ones that are riveted on. Things to inspect and consider would be your upper and lower ball joints, tie rod ends, and I guess brakes since you'll have those off. My truck is a rust bucket underneath living here in Nebraska where they salt the roads but I had zero problems whatsoever 👍

@@bikesandbangs Thank you, we get a lot of salt here in nyc too, but thankfully I have a garage kept 99 Durango. Last thing, which toolset works best for these era of Dodge cars, SAE or Metric?

Thanks for the great video. If I just need a wheel bearing, do I need to remove the axle too and disassemble the whole suspension or can I get to those wheel hub bolts from behind leaving everything connected?

@marccarlin1 the cv axle will need to be out of the hub, and to get that out you will need to release that top ball joint. So yes, you will basically do everything in the video
