Might have actually made sense at the time. The CD system was pretty expensive and it didn't work well on bumpy roads :)

Still holds true today. A cassette-aux adapter is a few bucks. But connecting your smartphone to a CD only car stereo is always a hassle.

What's this guy problem with the 540. That model has a very smooth and nice sounding engine with loads of options. Rather have a comfortable car with a V8, than a 520 with no options and a tiny Z3 with a 4 cylinder engine

+Jo-Fu Master Basically, buy a 520i ES don't bother with optional extras like a CD system, stick with the tape deck and radio, but buy a shit one with no spec.

If it helps he makes dull reviews with hate speech on all cars so far i seen. Starting to think guy hates his job and takes it out via videos. As for the car... In my opinion E39 (along with e46) is a born legend within BMW company.

oh man what an awesome condition! nice E39 and then you realize that this was shot 20 years ago and you go like...fuck that car probably looks like my poor 20i which was kept in no good shape until i bought it 2 years ago (still working on it)...yes that one is probably on the scrap yard or some young fellow's just treating it without respect...racing around...not taking care of oil changes and stuff...poor litle E39...come.to me i'll be good to you ;)

Wow literally everything about this review looks cheap! lol even the microphone! Such a cheapskate obviously can't understand the appeal of a car like the 5-Series... always telling you to go for bottom of the range everything because its cheaper. How sad! I Bet he drives a Skoda or an old Nissan Micra in real life.
