The video describes how to disassemble the headlight assembly, replace the two adjusters and reassemble. It does not cover removal and re-installation of the headlight assembly into the car. It also does not cover headlight adjustment.
I fixed both lights today and found your video extremely useful. The worst/most scary part is to snap these balls in and out. It feels like something is gonna brake! As an advice, there're some aftermarket supports with the tip made out of metal so they will never brake again.
Thank you for making this video, it is very helpful. I am helping a young man fixing his first car. he happen to pick a 1997 with head light with the adjuster broken. Now I need to get the parts and fix his car.
Thank you Gary great DIY i just purchase repair kit on ebay for around 12.00 waiting for it .I just was not sure what was the best way to put it all together.Your DIY will help me alot. Thanks again
Mentioning you need to turn the "pivot point" through 90 degrees with a pair of engineers pliers (as it has a post that pokes through to the front of the lens on a 2000 E39) to free it from the channel it sits/slides in on the back of the reflector plate would save some extra tears also! Thanks Gary. You saved me hours of swearing.
