Mike, I figured out what the harness was. I went to another salvage yard andd found a truck that already had the dash removed. The harness is the wiring that goes to the seatbelt chimes. So, I have the harness, now I just need to figure out how to hook it up...

Nice vid Mike. I just purchased a 98 C1500 that I will be doing an in depth build on. I will be doing this conversion. Very helpful.

Can you post a picture of your harness install where the connections went to for power and ground, also the end where it goes to the seat warning wiring

Mike, can you comment more on the mirrors and their installation? I have a truck that has pw, pdl., etc., but no power mirrors. How hard were they and was there a lot of extra wiring involved? Thanks!

do we need to pass the wiring for power window and door lock? i don't care for the Powermirror. i just got a 97 Cheyenne and wanted power window but the truck is clean and 4x4. not too sure why you pulled the dash?

Mike I'm pulling a dash from a junkyard. what else would I need to do to pull the whole dash out? Can I get away with just pulling the wheel off?

Mike I got the two doors and the wiring harness from a 99 Tahoe to put on a 95 GMC sierra truck. My door locks work fine, But I'm not getting power to the circuit breaker for the power windows. If I put a jumper from the breaker that is always hot, the windows work but I want to figure out how the circuit is supposed to work. Do you know? Or do you have a diagram that shows that whole circuit?

I’m doing the same thing that you’re doing to your truck in the video I just need to know where the wires go in the plugs especially the one that goes underneath the dash is the fuse block any other plug to switch the wires

Can you show how the conveniece center looks like after the swap ? Or how the whole wire harness gets its power ?

How do you change airbag on the passengerside? Do i have to take out the whole dashboard?

Hello, I've watched your video a few times and had a questions for you. I started my swap in my 98 c1500 but nothing works. My harness is from a 98 two door Tahoe. I checked for power and I'm good. I checked ground and I'm good, I even added a ground thinking that's what it was. I only plugged in the GRY harness at the courtesy center and the door harness, I did not plug in any other harnesses because I wanted to make sure everything will work before I pull the dash. I also purchased all new window and mirror switches. Brand new not junk yard new. Nothing works but after adding another ground to the bundle off grounds in the harness, the relay clicks but the door actuators do not. I'm lost been at this off and on for two weeks. Thanks for any info.

There is a blue plug at 9:35sec. What does that go to? I just replaced my dash and i can not figure out where it plugs in. Thanks for the help

Hi Mike, I just watched your video on swapping manual crank windows to power windows and door locks in your 97 Chevy truck. I have the wire harnesses for the doors, but do you know if it's possible or how to wire the windows and locks without pulling the dashboard and switching out the complete harness? Thanks for the video! Now, my question: Where does the lock/window wiring disappear to once inside the truck body? Does it go to a connector? My truck has broken wires in the grommet at the door, and wonder if I need to remove the whole dash and harness.

Hey mike I have a 1996 extended cab 4.3 with manual windows, so In order to find the right harness do I need to pull it out of a truck that’s also a extended cab and same engine /year etc?? Or can it be a single cab / crew cab or newer truck like 97-98?

Great tutorial. Just did mine and having the same issue with the audio plug(driver side)wire color match but the rear speakers are switched with something else I think the rear lights. Can you please share some light?

So i have an Old Body Style 2000 Tahoe Limited, and i want to put a console from a 2001 Tahoe into the truck but i know i have to change the bottom glove box dash piece which fits my truck model, but will the other piece under the steering wheel fit as well? will they match up 2000 top to 2001 bottom, or am i going to have to swap the full dash piece? thanks in advance for the comments and advice.

I heard that the power window relays are different to make my window power… If you know if it’s possible for me to use the relay box that I currently have or I have to takeout the power relay from another 95

it was a '99 suburban 2wd. got the door panels and inners out, disconnected the harness and started to pull it through and noticed a wire bundle almost dead center of the firewall. couldn't figure out where it went and couldn't completely remove the dash to get to the back of the firewall. at a loss...

Does anyone know if you can send power and ground and some how get the oem switches to work without running the dash harness like could I run my own relays and wires to get the switches power to the motor or you have to do the dash harness I got everything but the dash harness to switch over on a 95-98

Hey Mike I did this swap also on my 98 Chevy 2500, the Harness had air bag wiring, my truck was a fleet truck with no air bag, when i GOT DONE WINDOW MIRRORS WORK BUT NO DOOR LOCK'S I TESTED THE CIRCUIT FOR CONTINUITY ALL THE WAY ACROSS THE HARNESS AND CHECKS GOOD, WITH A MULTI METER HOOKED TO BOTH SIDES OF SWITCH I HAVE 13 VOLTS + WHEN I REVERSE THE SWITCH 13 VOLTS . I'VE GONE AS FAR AS TO PUT A TEST PLUG ON EITHER DOOR ACTUATOR AND RAN 12 VOLTS AND GROUND BOTH DIRECTIONS AND THE LOCKS WORK BOTH SIDES GOT ANY IDEA???

hey there Mike.I have a 95 Chevrolet truck and I've seen your video a few times, my truck doesn't have power windows and so I bought doors from a 99 Tahoe, so far I've placed the passenger guts into my OEM door and yet have to do the driver side, you mention a wire harness on your video but don't say what harness it is.. any help? ill be calling a local junk yard so they can pull it.

Where'd you get your dash harness from I just had to pull the entire harness out from under the driver side firewall and under the dash.

so it's basically a plug and play as long as you get the whole wiring harness right? how about fuse box....Do you tap into it?

ok so i have tried this. i had 2 clips i had to repin idk if maybe i did the pin out wrong or what but do you happen to have a wiring diagram for the dash? when i plug in the door paqnnels the horn sounds and wont turn off untill i unplug it if i hit the window up or down button the horn stops
