This problem has been plaguing me for years. Take it out clean the plug in connectors and make sure the four screws that hold and connect the speedometer were tight. It would fix it for a week or two. And once again come back. After this video I took it back out and removed the four screws and also the front cover. Very carefully. With the speedometer out you can see the little motor that makes it work. There was a small hole where you could see green enamel wire..magnet wire to be exact. There I sprayed in some crc contact cleaner and then moved the needle carefully up and down and then sprayed it out with some compressed air...knock on wood..but after 1 month it still works, the longest it has ever worked. Its worth a shot.
Did u fix it? @taconight2night i have the same my temp gauge reads about same . move to halfway but its just playing go and down no over halfway i change thermostat and temp sensor and its the same but now reads half way before was reading a little be under half way now reads half way and 1/4 it just go up and down
On my 1980 datsun 720 pickup the speedometer is stuck at full speed. 24 yrs ago when I got it, it was working, but I took off the lens to clean out the dust and bump something and it's all the way full speed on dial and just stays there.??? don't have a clue on what to do to fix it??
Una preguntita yo tengo una hardbody 1993 el mio todo eso funciona menos el de la temperatura y ya le cambie el cooling tempeture sensor y sigue igual la aguja no sube q puedo hacer / i have 1993 hardbody the cluster work except the temperature gauge and i replace the cooling temperature sensor what can i do please help
In other videos, many youtubers have found loose mounting screws behind the gauges of the instrument cluster (3 or 4 screws for each gauge). Try removing the cluster and check for loose screws behind your temperature gauge.
