Hey I just want to say thanks for uploading this. I actually thought this was now considered "lost media" because whenever the NFL released NFL Yearbooks through various online platforms over the years, the 1997 49ers yearbook was always missing, and I never knew why. Even through NFL media sharing groups online, this one never turned up. I have all the NFL Films 49ers Yearbooks from 1981 to 1998 other than 1982, and 1997. Thanks to your contribution I now at least have 1997. Thanks again, and cheers boss. GO NINERS.
This was the year Garrison Hearst became my favorite player. Back to back 1,000 yard seasons in 97 and 98 before the ankle injury vs Atlanta in the playoffs. Ended up missing 2 full years and coming back for the 01 season rushing for over 1,000 yards and winning comeback player of the year for the 2nd time.
2:20 Stokes was out unfortunately but the Woodall-Plummer play WAS a fumble and a touchdown that would've made it 13-10 in the 3rd and possibly changed the whole flow of the game. Oh well, I guess that and the Don Beebe play in 1996 (where he was down by contact) are why I don't feel too bad about the 98 wild card game.
I forgot Hearst broke his collarbone vs Cheifs. Damn this is brining back some childhood memories lol 97 niners had a squad, last nfc title game until 2011.
Steve Mariucci is a better Head Coach than George Seifert because he was an offensive minded coach and is under the Bill Walsh Mike Holmgren West Coast Offensive tree
