So obvious at this stage that Thom was completely disillusioned with the music industry, touring and press. Sheer disdain and he's not even trying to hide it. Seems with Kid A they took everything that was 'expected' of them - both from press and likely their own label - and flipped it. Never been my favourite album but I can appreciate the significance. It completely changed them as a band and saved their career.
When the album came out in the summer of 97 vs this period in April 1998 the atmosphere around the band, the fans really changed in that short span. You could tell the band was already over this period by this time. But they came back even better in 2000 with Kid A. Even playing their older material on that tour sounded even better.
Toronto doesn't deserve Radiohead again after the tragic stage fiasco. Scratch that - Canada doesn't deserve Radiohead again. No, North America doesn't deserve Radio...
