Is that one official Jerry Markbreit? I've read in the Football Hall of Shame where he flubbed the coin toss before, SB 17, I believe. One of the most respected officials there ever was.
Me too. John probably did the right thing. I remember the game when John pulled his hamstring playing the Cowboys, and then reinjured it the following week in Oakland. Bubby went 4 - 0 as a starter and Derrick Lovelle had another good year behind Terrell but I think after 16 years John's body had enough. Too Bad. 😢
If Elway would have come back, it would have been a different team. Losing Steve Atwater to free agency, plus injuries to Terrell Davis and Sahnnon Sharpe would have made it a difficult year for Elway.
Patriots Robert Edwards, I recall blew out his knee during flag football exhibition on sand during a pro bowl weekend. Almost had to have his leg amputated due to the damage. Never played again
3:45 - Al Michaels says in what he hopes will be a long an illustrious career. Gulp. He made a tremendous comeback to get back in the NFL, but what might have been for another Georgia running back.
I couldn’t tell at the time but watching this today, you can tell Elway was really slowing down. This was era before diet, training, and the rules were allowing QB’s to play at a high level in their late 30’s and early 40’s.
Patriots lost to the 96 Packers in SBXXXI (New Orleans SuperDome) Broncos dethroned the defending world champion 97 Packers in SBXXXII (Jack Murphy stadium)
Pat's didn't get a chance to win that good as for the Broncos. I guess the pats in the 90s didn't get that a super bowl championship. Just before they did it well for the 2001 victory.
