I feel in love with these little cars when i was little watching Rally racing.. I would love to get my hands on a restored Mini like this. I've been watching a series on RU-vid where some guys are making one of these 4WD.
what a wonderful work! it looks fantastic! wanted to visit your website but it did not work! anyhow keep on restoring this superb minis! greetings from Germany
Lovely job! Gimme! Shame the steering wheel is on the wrong side.... well, for me, anyway :). I wonder if gold Minilites would look better with that red?
You've probably already found out but you've fitted over sills instead of genuine sills. These don't create a proper box section and do not allow condensation to escape the sill leading to premature rusting.
We first used seam sealer to prevent water entering in between panels and after priming we sprayed on a rubber type coating and then painted the underside.Underbody sealant was not used,no.
@@ronlems8934 I know the rubber type of coating as that can be used as an underbody sealant. Not sure how effective it is or how long it lasts as i've never used it on a car, but here in UK a car without any form of underbody sealant will start rusting after the first winter if being used on public roads (will last a bit longer if only a track car).
It's a hobby of mine to restore Classic Minis, even though I have to make a living out of it but lets say that if I would have counted every hour I've spend on the car,I would have never been able to sell the car.
