Other than the Storm Blue Thunder (my first bowling ball ever) that slime green Bolt was just a terrific ball. This is still my favorite PDW performance. Watching it live was badass
I was working a job in Lepsick at this time. So I went up there and watched this live, sat in the back by the anouncers. My fave at the time was Walter Ray my least fave was Pete Webber.
Tami Aulby is watching at home. She did a lot of that in the 1990's. Like all women, she probably put on 60 lbs in the 10 years since 1985 when ABC had their cameras all over her.
This was the beginning of the steep downfall of the PBA. I don't know who came up with the stupid idea to get the fans to applaud all the time but it was a dumb idea, it was awkward and felt forced. In fact, the first few months you could tell the crowd (at least 99% of them) didn't want to applaud during the players' approach so what ended up happening was it would be mostly quiet and a handful of dummies would shout right at the top of the backswing. What an awful idea :(
