Ethiopia's Haile Gebrselassie wins the men's 10,000m final at the 1999 IAAF World Athletics Championships held in Seville, Spain. The result - 1. Haile Gebrselassie (ETH) 2. Paul Tergat (KEN) 3. Assefa Mezgebu (ETH)
That's alright. I watched it all live (big Hissou fan) and recorded it on VCR, but lost the tape at some stage. I am surprised that nobody has uploaded it as everything else seems to be on RU-vid.
That is what I noticed in almost all of these races between Gebrselassie and Tergat. The former always put himself in a position to a win and the latter was often not in a position or reacted too slowly to win. Truth be told, Gebrselassie had the better sprint, so would always be the favourite to win, but Tergat to give himself a chance had to make his move with no more than three laps to go and seldom did that.
