Among my first car memories was being with Mama when she bought a 1950 Coronet DeLuxe.

I learned to drive on our 1950 Dodge. In those days, radios were an option. No car or truck came with a radio unless it was ordered with one. Also, in those days one was very fortunate if your car or truck engine made it to 100,000 miles. By that time, the engine was burning oil and needed to be rebuilt.

Thanks for watching and thanks for the comment. I think that’s what draws me to these older cars…they had a purpose to serve and did so without all the bells and whistles and modern conveniences that we take for granted today. I’ve owned two of these over the years and neither one had a radio in it. On a fun side note though, there’s a nice space behind the speaker opening that will hold a decent Bluetooth speaker…..looks factory but you still have your tunes on a nice drive!

My first car as a teenager was a 1950 Plymouth Deluxe. This Dodge reminds me of the Plymouth, very similar.

Ironically, I had mine in the shop this past winter to have a valve spring replaced…..at the same time there was a 1950 Plymouth in there as well! The odds of two 1950 cousins in the same shop at the same time were definitely not very high! Thanks for watching!!

My first car memory was being with Mama when she bought a butter cream yellow 1950 Coronet Deluxe with brown mohair and chocolate wool carpet. The color was kind'a like the roof of your car. Came with radio but no turn signals. We traveled in that car...to the Outer Banks for 'The Lost Colony' performances 3-4 times, to Philadelphia where my brother was in boarding school, numerous trips to Manhattan...

Hey Larry, thanks for watching! This car too starts surprisingly well in the cold weather. I just had some work done to it, a valve spring broke last spring that put it out of commission for a while, but it’s back up and running again. Hope to have more videos with it soon!

On every video I have watched , the oil pressure sits around 45 psi cold, 40 hot and 45psi at speed hot or cold. Same as my 1950 plymouth.

I have tried to keep a very close eye on my oil pressure. On this car it seems once the engine is warm and idling it is around 20 to 25 psi…..cold is around 40 to 45 and up to speed is around the same. Thanks for the comment and for watching!

I have a green 1950 Coronet and It's fluid drive. Not the Gyromatic with the electric solenoid stuff. I call her Ms. Emily 😄

Ms. Emily….I like that! I’ve been trying to come up with a good name for this one! I had a 49 Coronet that was fluid drive, this gyromatic setup took a little getting used to! Thanks for watching!

When the gyromatic set up malfunctioned and started having electric issues Some people would give up trying to fix them and put a three speed out of a Plymouth in the Dodge.
