Did you weld up the bumper yourself?
@208Tyler
@208Tyler Год назад
No, I had a local fabricator do it for just over $200

Was the Coastal Offroad front bumper bolt on? I just recently put on a set of Brute Force aftermarket bumpers. After talking to a lot of people. Out of Clovis, CA. Brute Force is the only aftermarket bumper that I could find that was specific for 1st Gen Tundras. No custom brackets needed. A friend has an ARB on the front of his older Tundra. Made for a Taco and modified. He is always tinkering with it because it shifts around. The reason I went with new, heavy duty aftermarket bumpers was after hitting a huge deer. Not much damage, I was lucky. But my trip was over before it even started.

Once the bumper is welded together, yes, it’s bolt on. At least 4-5 companies make bumpers for the tundra. BFF, CO, then Addicted Desert Designs, Hot Metal Fab, Northwest Trail (innovations?), MOVE bumpers, “80% off road” might make them as well. They are out there but not from a lot of “well known” companies.

What position is your front shock circlip on with the ome springs?
@208Tyler
@208Tyler Год назад
They’re on the bottom clip. The place I bought them from does not recommend doing anything but the lowest clip if you’re using OME springs
@davidgarcia1569
@davidgarcia1569 Год назад
Thanks ! I’ve been wanting to switch my springs in the front because I literally have the same shocks as you and am also gonna get a bumper up front so I just wanted to see where you had the clip, thanks for resplandor keep up your videos, love them!!

Just got my first gen and your truck is what I want to build to a T almost (besides the super skinny tires lol). Try to put on an add-a-leaf soon so I can see what it looks like 😅
@208Tyler
@208Tyler Год назад
I’ve had wider tires before too haha. Thanks for watching and commenting!

If you have an 03 or older I think could swap knuckles to use the larger ball joints the newer trucks have
@208Tyler
@208Tyler Год назад
Yes, you can. Both designs are faulty and have similar rates of failure, though. I don’t see the advantage in swapping, my first ball joints went 200k miles

How'd you attach the net to the camper? Ive thought about installing a few things to my camper but its so thin that even with 1/4" screws I've drilled through it a couple times.
@208Tyler
@208Tyler Год назад
The roof “tracks” are attached to the camper with a bolt and a nut. I took off the nut and put a conduit clamp between the nut and the ceiling. My “build out” video demonstrates that process: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-0TAEVOhgej4.html

any camper should not get contractor windows. Yes its nice to access stuff from the side but if your sleeping in the bed windows that slide and have screens are way nicer to get air in and out of the vehicle
@208Tyler
@208Tyler 11 месяцев назад
You can still get air in and out….. the contractor windows are so much more useful for moving gear around. I’ve had both and I’d always pick contractor windows

Getting an understanding of how lift works since I left the passenger car low life. Do you not need to lift the rear with coilovers as well? Why just the front?
@208Tyler
@208Tyler Год назад
Trucks come from the factory with the front lower than the rear so that they’re level when towing. Lifting mine 2” in the front made it about level. Eventually I’ll lift the rear too, but the rear has leaf springs + shocks, not coilovers.
@ScuffedDonut
@ScuffedDonut Год назад
@@208Tyler Rear completely stock? Didn’t add another 5100 in rear?
@208Tyler
@208Tyler Год назад
Nope! I probably will add something in the future like an icon AAL
