Thank you so much! I am a new homeschooling and didn't know where to start. I was so overwhelmed until I found you! You have helped me for the past couple of years and gave me confidence in myself and helped me make homeschooling simple and fun ❤
I appreciate this so much, my little guy is in first grade now and I needed a bit more help with his curriculum. Good to see I was actually picking some the same leaning itsms, Yay
I love all of your recommendations! For the Saxon math workbook, do you finish the entire book within the year? And if you could, I would love to see how you teach each lesson 😊

Yes, please, I also would love this in preparation for next year! Not sure about everywhere else but in Australia, we go by stage. Stage 1 = grade 1 and 2! Will equally click on that video just as fast as this one 😅
Thank you for sharing! We are starting kindergarten this year and I picked up. Abeka math, primer sight words for kindergarten, elemental phonics level 1, get ready explode the code set, 4 sets of the bob books ( beginning readers, alphabet, sight words, first stories) and then writing I have letter tracing by Renna, abc tracing worksheets, and numbers! As well as lots of games from learning resources as in alphabet island, slap Jack, alphabet bingo, I also got a calendar so we can do that in the morning, as well as a letter hand up pocket so we can focus on letter of the day, as well as math manipulatives and of course lots of read alounds (: I hope I have it all down. I was going to go with Abeka the whole child kit but tbh pulling from all over different resources idk seemed more fun to do and cost friendly! Like you said previously kinder/ preschool isn’t about “ overload “ and lot of book works. So I find this educational and it’s only 5-10 mins in each work book. But I will so love to add in that literacy binder level one next year so that be cool if you made this up for sale!! I’ll totally buy that (:
Wow MashAllah you explained each and everything and clear my all doubts thank you so much for such a helpful videos for us specially homeschooling mom's
Hi there! I just found your RU-vid and IG. Do you touch on those subjects every single day? Or how do you split it up? It was so thorough and I got a lot of good ideas but I was intimidated by all the subjects.
Hi, I am living in South Korea and planning to teach English as my kid’s second language. Most academies here use textbooks such as Wonders, Journeys or Into Reading, and those are most accessible to buy here. Do you have any pros and cons to using these textbooks? Or have any preferences?
My daughter who is 4 is starting your elemental phonics! We started playing the letter sounds once a day and our 2 year old picked up on them after day 2 and says all of them with the recording 😂. Was not even trying to teach him yet.
Thank you for your video, Jady! I was wondering whether you feel the Saxon instructor guide is necessary for first grade? Or do you just help them work through the workbook pages? Thank you, and I hope you have a wonderful year!
Hi J. This my first time homeschooling and I feel so lost to where start with my first grade boy, can you tell me which class go first: like 1. Math 2. Reading ????? I would really really appreciate. Thank you
Do you only do the Saxon workbook or do you do the lessons in the big spiral book and morning meeting book as well? Do you do Saxon for 2nd grade as well?
Where do you buy all these books and supplies from? I've had a hard time finding decent books for learning. Also how many days a week do you do these books? I know homeschooling they are always learning even if we go for bike rides etc. But how many hours a day do you do the sit down learning?
My youngest is a first grader! If he finished All About Reading Level 1 last year, which level of your Elemental Phonics should I start him on? I'm assuming Level 2?
I haven’t attended to school in Western countries, but I had this impression from English media, that they don’t do dictations. I was kind of surprised because it is big part of education of CIS and post Soviet countries. We do dictations until we graduate with harder texts (usually they are on same grammatical topic we’ve been studying. We also do mathematical dictations (elementary school only) We also do like rewriting. Teacher reads a text couple times. We have to memorize it and rewrite it out of memory. Teacher may write down specific words on a blackboard. And the last one is kind of essay, but it is structurally different. I also noticed that you don’t do retellings. For reading comprehension I only saw read the text and answer questions (write). We do read it and then retell it and then verbally answer the questions. Last two are actually great exercises for those who are learning foreign languages I also saw dictation in German media, so I guess European countries do that too
I believe dictation is very important and you are correct it is not used in schools very often. All of my students do dictation work which helps the child with spelling and I focus on phonetic writing at this age which is the first step before spelling. That is why I use notebooks starting in Kindergarten and have children write phonetic words and sentences every week. Video coming on that soon!
I start with you when my child was in kindgarten I just wanted to say everything you said about blending word and breaking them down really helped my child he is at a level D reading level so I am saying thank you from the bottom of my heart because your teaching came in handed😊
Jady! You’ve been my inspiration for homeschooling and I’m beginning this year full time with my first grader! Thanks so much for your dedication to kids education. I’ve been following you for more than four years now. Keep doing all that you do.
Thank you so much for all your insight. I randomly came across your RU-vid and subscribed right away as I’m a new homeschooling mom. I also purchased your phonetic level 1 and handwriting for letters and numbers. I love how you sell the pdf and we can reuse for multiple kids. Thank you so much for all your hard work. ❤
Thank you so much. My son moves onto 1st grade this year and we struggled a little in kindergarten last year. I love how you showed the curriculum in more detail and this is exactly what he needs. We plan on working a little slower and this curriculum is perfect. Thank you SO MUCH.
Hi Jady. This is so helpful, thank you so much. Just wanted to confirm what age a first grader would be? I’m from the UK and our ‘Year 1’ students are age 5-6.
Hello,,, thanku so much for the vedio ,,,its a great help, can we purchase the pdf copy of easy addition workbook as the book purchase option is not available in my country..
Thank you jady for your resources. Reading has been a huge struggle. Currently using GATB curriculum and its just not working out. There are so many words to read every day and my kids are struggling to remember every single word. I like your approach and I am really hoping this is going to help them advance. Lately I've been feeling I'm failing my kids because i have a soon 8 and soon 12(12 has educational delays) year old and they can read basis cvc words with some sight words. So here fingers crossed this helps them! Thank you!
Hi. Thanks for all your wonderful videos! How do you make your kids listen while you are reading aloud? My 6.5 year old son and 9 year old daughter don’t want to sit down and listen while I read (except during bed time). If you have already made a video on that, can you please point that to me? Thanks a ton!!
