1st problem with the Ista Breeze I1500
part three of a multi part series showing a problem that popped up during a casual inspection of the wind turbine.
I was able to get the trench dug the conduit in the ground and the trench covered.
Thanks for watching

She’s looking awesome up there . After a few adjustments , she’s running great like an airplane taking off from that pole like mine on my wind turbine videos . Keep up the great work and May the wind be with you .

OK, Nice output. I wish people would show the wind speed at the same time. It would make picking a wind turbine so easy.

Really enjoy and appreciate the videos of your wind generator and tower. I recently bought a solar system and now wanting a wind generator for extra during cloudy and windy times. I appreciate you sharing!!

I had the same problem with mine. The bolts came out completely and I didn’t notice it until some damage was done. We get some very powerful winds where I live. You are lucky you noticed in time.

I didn't realized it until later but they actually make an adaptor for this damn thing.

@@veggitarianredneck I might get one of these to supplement my PV at night. From what I can see it seems you need a heavy sleeve over the pipe because those threads won't hold in that thickness of pipe. (Schedule 40?)

You can drill small holes through the bolt heads and use the locking pliers and wire to lock the bolts in like we do on aircraft, just make sure you don't do anti anlocking. Plenty on you tube

lol if it makes you feel better I haven’t been able to keep those bolts in the stub. I haven’t had them in for about 4 months...thats why i slotted my stub and clamp it down with exhaust clamps. The bolts would work great IF the stub tower was a perfect fit for the turbine’s yoke. I’d have had to machine one and it cost too much. I learned after the fact that they have a four bolt flange adapter...had i known that i would have gone that route.

WHAT i would do is make a cover-ajustable sleeve to ashure that those nuts do not com out,like a rubber hose over, plus clamps, -like a rad hose close to right size.

Great video. Which kind of digger is that ? Never seen one like that. I have an old Schaeff 2.0 digger, but its bulky and heavy for moving around. Kind regards from Denmark

Somehow that loose bolt is the wind turbine's fault.

I feel like those things you are using to tension and adjust the wires are not the best tool for the job.

@@veggitarianredneck i`ve never seen those kind of tensioners before but they look like a nightmare to adjust compared to turnbuckles. You did a great job on the mast, one man job with the gin pole and electric winch.

@@JohnGuest45 they were a pain just like you suspected. I swapped them out for turnbuckles, way better.

What is the height of the tower and what is the schedule of the pipe? Thanks
@veggitarianredneck
@veggitarianredneck 2 года назад
Schedule 40 pipe, and the tower is 30 feet high.
@larrymoore5811
@larrymoore5811 2 года назад
@@veggitarianredneck Couple more questions if you dont mind. What size is your pipe, 1 1/2" or 2"? Did you screw the joints together or weld them? I have solar that takes care of my off grid house probably 85% of the time. After 2 1/2 days of cloudy rainy weather the batteries usually need to be recharged. During these times I always have 20mph winds as I live up on a Pass. Just need to take advantage of that wind. I like your tower set up and thinking about building something similar to put up on the ridge.
@veggitarianredneck
@veggitarianredneck 2 года назад
@@larrymoore5811 Hey no problem. So I used 1 1/2 pipe but looking back I should have used 2" pipe. I have a video showing how I reinforced it. I initially screwed the pipe together which would have worked out just fine but my tower wires were not tight enough and one of the couplers broke sending the whole thing to the ground. So the upper most coupler I eventually welded.

a bolt fell out. whoop.
@davidpotter9462
@davidpotter9462 Год назад
Simple way to fix that would be to make a band to go around the pole so that when the ends are tightened up, it is tight against the bolt heads. Poor design.
@veggitarianredneck

That's sorta what I did, but I used a couple of muffler clamps.
