1st Slope Soaring session of 2023 and it's flippin cold!

A couple of hours out flying the slope at Manmoel Common near Ebbw Vale in S Wales, and it was a wee bit chilly. Wearing fingerless thermal gloves I could only fly for a few minutes before my finger tips felt like they were freezing.
Models flown were the Beevolution (chevron wing)

You look cold but smiling a lot. Fun is being had... I have been trying to research something and am having issues getting much actual, usable information. I am guessing you may be knowledgeable here... I hope. I keep hearing that using sheet carbon fiber, such as a beehive weave ~200g cloth, can cause issues with antenna propagation. It seems as though CF can hold a charge and act a bit like an artificial ground-plane. Which will mess with an antenna for sure. Any thoughts on this ?? I am building a 1.2M wing and want to cover the entire plane with CF as I hope it will be a very fast plane (twin 64mm 6s EDFs) and will have pretty high g-force turns, etc. Not shooting for any records, just want to take my pilot skills up a notch. I only fly analog FPV.

If you have any kind, or amount of carbon anywhere close to the RX antenna’s, the carbon will shield the RF signal to the RX. I have experienced this myself with a powered foam model that had strips of carbon glued to the inside of the fuselage to stiffen it. I The RX lost the signal and the model went into failsafe and suffered some damage when it hit the ground. So now, if I think there is a chance that carbon maybe in the fuselage, I ALWAYS have the ends of the antennas protruding OUTSIDE of the fuselage. If you look at my latest video where I’m launching the white glider, you can probably see the tip of one of the antennas protruding outside of the fuselage. I hope this helps.
