My Dear Tarnished Treasures, your videos never disappoint us, all the items are full of magic! When I watch your videos and listen the description of each one of the treasures that you bought, I am transported to a different time in my life when I was a kid (more than 60 years ago), looking at my aunts getting dressed for work or going to a celebration, how fabulous and elegant were those days! And you have the opportunity to find those things, bringing them to life again, placing them in a very special place in your home, and the best part of it is that you share them with us! Thank you! 💖
Your videos are never too long! What a fabulous garage sale haul! Looking forward to seeing the drawers painted, filled, and in place. That cherry 🍒 trinket box is so adorable. I love old compacts and have a small collection. The one with the women's face is my favorite.
My great grandmother made my mamas slips plus other stuff. I have a card or two with the smallest MOP buttons i have ever seen. They are adorable and mama said they went across the shoulders. Ive got my great grandmothers entire button collection and it has some gorgeous old buttons. For antique linens to get stains out i use a pot of boiling water in the tub with a scoop of oxiclean. I let them soak for 1 to 3 hours, rinse and check. If it still needs some cleaning do it again. I got my mamas antique doll clothes clean like that and it didnt harm them at all. Oh, dry flat on top of washer or outside. Nice finds today. Love the compacts and glass beads etc.
What a fantastic haul. One of our family traditions is to bring a puzzle on vacation with us and to have it finished by the time we leave. This tradition started when I was a child and is still going strong. ❤
I love to do puzzles. My dad and i always had one going. We had to use a card table. My mother was never happy about it being up in the living room. I would never trade those times with my dad ❤
Everything was so cool, great prices, fun to see. If I had to pick, the books might be my favorite. I'm having great luck lately at estate sales as well- such a fun time of year!
Wonderful things and great prices. Love everything. I also collect vintage jewellery and compacts. I love beautiful old linen with embroidery. Its great that you try to save, as I do beautiful pieces that someone put a lot of hard work making❤
I always enjoy your videos very much and also seeing how you display the items you find. I hope the yard sales that we have upcoming are as good as yours. Thank you for sharing.
Great haul Corinna! I love thick old glass bottles and I don’t care whether they have tops or not. I sometimes display them empty just for their own beauty. I’ve also picked up some compacts over the years. I don’t collect them, but sometimes they’re part of an auction lot. Those programs are great as well. I’m also a huge puzzle fanatic. The two you got for $1 each were an incredible bargain. Love everything you picked up. Like you, I have no problem overlooking damaged items. It’s the overall beauty that’s important to me. 💕
You were right …. I had to pause video and get up to make a 2nd cup of tea 🤣☕️ The cicada in resin is very cool! I love the cherry trinket box 🍒 The glass bowl and plate set with engraving are lovely too. 😊
Dog on it, you find the neatest things!!! And then the prices🤦🏻♀️ I wish I had yard sales and church sales around here like that! Puzzles are fun! Just don’t have the time unless it’s a winter storm😂 Those compacts are an art all their own. Love the silver K😊 That organization box is awesome! And the jewelry is so cool. Come on that linen😮 Thank goodness you showed them!! I was like please don’t say you’re not gonna show them😂 Love them so much can’t wait to see them again! 😂❤
The Charles Rennie Mackintosh, bottle is just fabulous❤ You certainly find so many awesome, items👍What beautiful ompacts too!! ..Amazing Yard sales😍...We dont have anything over here like them,in the UK.Only carboot sales,i never find anything half as good😕
My husband cut a thin piece of plywood for me for a puzzle board. I can work the puzzle on my dining room table and then carefully carry the board (with all the pieces) to put on the bed in the spare bedroom. It usually takes several days to get a puzzle done depending on how busy I am. Thanks.
What a great haul! So exciting. Chiming in to comment about the rhinestone piece with the two little loops on the end…it’s not missing a clasp, it would have had a length. Of fine elastic and been worn as a bandeau headband low on the forehead in the 1920’s. I’ve sold 2 of them over the years and both times I got $125!
I love the compacts. I have a small collection. I don't usually pay much for them. I did buy one that was more on Ebay. It is US Navy with Mother of Pearl in perfect shape. My son was in the Navy. Elgin is a brand I have seen. I think it's made in England.
You could try vinegar and a toothbrush on the micro mosaic. Better to not soak it which might loosen the cement. I’ve had luck with Simichrome polish too. That is a very fine little piece. A can of Renaissance wax would be handy to have and better to seal and protect than oil, which can go rancid.
I remember watching you years ago. I forget your channel name then. I’m happy to have found your channel again! Do you have an eBay? You find some good stuff that’s for sure.
Can’t believe what starts the vid is a Mackintosh rose arts & crafts flask, followed by endless awesome. 18:54 Yep, that material is shagrin or shark’s skin.
Hi Corinna, you got some good compacts. Being that I own a multitude of compacts, I can tell you that you have some very nice art deco compacts worth a lot more than what you paid for the lot. And I love those art deco theater playbills. You got a great eye!!
I go to this nursing home thrift shop, and i see a lot of those old antique fancy crystal salt and pepper shakers but the silver looks corroded inside so i pass on them because i dont know if they would be safe to eat salt and pepper out of but they are so beautiful..loved the red heart box...I'd put jewelry in it...
Motto art is little framed quotations usually with a little picture along the side . ie ..if it's a verse about a dog, then they will show a dog, or garden, or home. I'll bet the name motto art is not familiar to you. They we're very popular in the 20's and 30's I think. 👍💕
I have those purple flowers too in my lawn, I never planted it ...I read it's a perennial wild flower, in North America..but you can buy it too..I love it every spring..🪻🪻 Bugleweed is the generic name but Ajuga is the technical name.
