Not sure I agree with the changes you implented when you took over, nor with your analysis of what he did wrong. I don't think the smoke bombs did that much. They mostly affected the stormcallers, who were already being shut down completely by your anti-missile, and even then it only made them move forward slightly and shoot one volley later (which, again, is getting shot down anyways). Likewise the static anti-missile you placed down for him really only countered two stormis on your side, which as you said yourself, were neither leveled nor teched. I think his actual biggest blunder was investing heavily into boats both on round 7 and 8. Those were already being countered by your anti-missile. The shields you did place down were helpful of course, but not necessarily because they stopped the smoke bomb, and so were the extra stangs (which did on the other hand benefit from not being in smoke) Edit.: when you took over, the stormies did have a noticeable impact, but only towards the end when all the anti-missile stangs were gone. Even with the smoke they would have obviously been in range at that point ...
Thanks for the comment, Grab. I rewatched the round and tried to look at it from your perspective. I think we'll have to agree to disagree about the smoke. While I see where you're coming from, I still think the Smoke Bomb had a significant impact. That said, I think we both agree about the boats. In any case, I appreciate your input because it made me look at it from a completely different perspective (which is awesome!).
I think the most important thing to remember is that you never interrupt your enemies when they're making a mistake. Mechabellum is war, my dude. You gotta wage it or you'll lose it. I defo would have moved the stormcallers
Lmao yeah, I should have moved them. I try to be as honest as possible, sometimes to a fault--and part of that, to me, is doing what I consider to be the right thing. Usually, it's easy to tell which one is which. In this particular case, my brain kind of short-circuited because I didn't know what to do 🤣
