Had a pretty good day at Loch Raven with my dad. He came to visit for a week from Louisiana. Found some nice bass and he got his first yellow perch ever. Lots of fun!
So hot and humid in the DC area right now.. Can't believe you're out in this. Much thanks! BTW, the amount of stuff in that boat gives me hoarder vibes.
As a crappie fisherman, this was cool to watch, really enjoyed it!……had a few good laughs too lol. Nice vid Mike, good to see you back out on the water!
Fish bump for the win! It's too hot to throw massive baits like that. I'm suprised anything ate a bait that big in the heat, I guess trolling works. Was that Loch Raven? I want some crappie!
That was awesome glad to see you doing calabes with others glad to see you catch a pike again can't wait for the next video amazing video as always 💓can't wait for the next one
Hey 1Rod! Have you ever fished Tridelphia Reservoir? If not, there is a very good pike population if you want to catch some pike and I’ve even caught some on a Ned rig.
Love your video. I live in College Park, MD, and began fishing last year. Have not caught a crappie so far. Could you recommend a good spot for crappie fishing in this area. Thanks.
Hey 1 rod don’t stop making videos please I mean Ik you need breaks I just rlly enjoy your videos it encourages me to catch bigger fish and one day I will be better the best actually watch
Luckily for us saltwater fisherman (at least in South Florida), this hot summer makes the ocean lose a lot of oxygen so lots of fish come to shore. As an inshore angler, this has made my fishing pop off recently. One of the few upsides of the hot summer months.
It's days like this in 99+ degrees where drinks are the heros. Went fishing the other day in 99 degree heat and got nothing for 4 hours, then got a 1 pounder and it felt great lol
Love your videos, and good to see you back to posting them again. I have used an Abu Garcia spinning reel for the last few years and would like to try a baitcaster. What is your suggestion for a "beginner" selection for a reel that's around the $100 price point (or less if you have suggestions). What about your pick for under $200? Keep posting the great content!
@@1Rod1ReelFishing how did you get the reel? I see some on fleabay but there’s warnings about duty taxes and what not and idk how to deal with any of that lol.
I have been grinding in this heat for sure. I have a fishing channel as well and it's been kind of tough. I'm in Ohio we have had a crap ton of rain this last month or so. Also I do high-rise construction. I'm always in the heat lol. Good video for sure and keep grinding.
Thats the triadelphia reservoir I fish there all the time and I was hoping to see you there once. 😭 I live in Maryland and everytime i go fishing I will look for you as much as i look for fish. Hopefully will catch You soon 👍👍
@@Czarlite I mean I was only twelve, all we had back then were little jigs with plastics or live worms so always went down there to catch some white perch with my friend, but that day we caught a 10 pound common carp and I caught a 14 inch northern pike both on worms I’ve caught them on lures at lakes like blade baits, those are one of my favorite for any sport fish
Your line looks thick af. You should try a proper 4-6lb like the Berkely x9 or the Slick8 V2. You will instantly notice how much easier it is to cast, especially true 1/8th and below.
