Was this game some sort of "Don't upgrade a single unit challenge"😅?

Storms and acid scorps, feel like its deadly without air counters.

Good game. Looked ropey for a moment. Also, editor Whooped continues to impress.

Thanks so much, man. I'm trying to get better at Mechabellum of course, but also on editing. It used to take me four plus hours per video. Now it still takes a long time but not as long :) haha

So here's something I've been struggling with. In a situation like this, how do you make decisions about chaff? They have a bunch of chaff clear, so our chaff will just get chewed up. Do you send even more chaff to keep their chaff clears busy? What's the point in that, if the tarantulas in this case aren't a big threat to the rest of your board? Do you send late chaff? I've been trying it out, but not very successfully. It seems that when I'm behind, their surviving army always seems to do pretty well in clearing my late chaff. Been having a slump with this the last couple of days... Also, for countering melting points, what's your reasoning behind deciding to whether upgrade your scorpions, or getting more of them?

you drop chaff anyway and lace tanky units inbetween them, so here he should have had fangs in front and then waves of slower fangs and crawlers as well. You can drop the sabertooths or something like a fortress inbetween them and the stormcallers and snipers do all the heavy hitting

Great questions! About the chaff (I'll use this game as a reference): In my mind, there are 2 primary types of chaff (Crawlers and Fangs), 2 secondary types (Wasps and Mustangs), and 2 tertiary types (Steel Balls and Sledgehammers). Crawlers are a must, even though he had a whole board of Tarantulas. The reason is that I had HE Ammo Storms--so they only needed to survive long enough for my Storms to take out his chaff. I didn't go Fangs because I used 3 deployments every round and simply didn't have the available deployments to use them--other things were more of a priority, such as Scorpions, Stormcallers, etc. In this particular case, I didn't go Wasps because he had a lot of Fangs. Shielded Wasps probably would have been okay, but they're also very expensive and the game didn't last long enough for me to use them or afford them given other priorities I had. I think Sledgehammers would have been good in this case as a midline defense, especially if they sit right under the shields. That's why I kept the Mustangs--they're good at killing Fangs and I was using them as a second line of chaff to sit under the shields. So it went Crawlers > Shields > Mustangs > Scorpions before they got to my Marksman and Stormcallers. By that time, he only had Tarantulas left, and it was easy pickings. In short, chaff is a must even if they have a lot of clear, but you aren't limited to just Crawlers or Fangs. I used lots of Shields and some Sentry Missiles plus non-teched Mustangs to help with that as well. My ideal setup, if it reached late game, would include frontline Fangs with Shields and mid-to-back Fangs for late arrivals, in addition to the Crawlers. ------ The second question depends on whether the Scorpions' primary purpose is to carry or if they're being used for both DPS and utility. They are very consistent at applying Acid, so if I have other carry units, such as Marksman, I typically won't level the Scorpions unless they have equipment. So if you have other carry units, I would use them for Acid. If you need them as your primary damage dealer, I would level them. And then make the judgement call in certain situations when it's not as clear cut. Sorry for the chapter book. I hope this helps.

@@WhoopedGG hm, it odes very much so actually, thank you. I was hesitant in considering mustangs and wasps a sort of chaff, but I like the way you think. And identifying which units in my board are dealing the most damage, or at least have the potential to, is something I can improve on to decide where to spend my funds. Thank you, I'll keep this in mind as a way to try to grow!

There a reason you don't rank up your guys? The first rank up essentially doubles the stats.

I could have done a better job leveling my Marksman. Sometimes I prioritize leveling, sometimes I don't. It kind of depends on the game. My priority this game was to get Range + Acid on the Scorpion, which took a lot of supplies. I then spent a significant portion of my supplies on static deployments, such as the shield.
