Perti is a beast. Thank you rowermc for this footage. I raced Perti in 1992 Lucerne. I lead him the same way Andy did, and then he mowed me down in a ridiculous manner. Either Lange or Chalupa won the race, I have forgotten who came in third, maybe Kajetan Broniefski, I was fourth for a while from what I remember.... Perti was fifth a lane next to me. And I remember to this day his contagious rhythm.

Long powerful strokes he had, it was under a spell. He was 39 and I was 19. It was an awesome experience that I will never forget. XENO

Not many scullers can say they had a length on Karpinnen with 250m to go. Full credit to Sudduth.

The racing is awesome, but not quite as awesome as the commentator! It's incredible how he (generally!) smoothly shifts from english to german to dutch!
