Congrats on 2K!!! That mic didn't stand a chance. The controller is called the ESC-864-D because it's the digital version of the ESC-864. I have noticed, however, that some digital 864s resemble the old analog ones, with the column of buttons, while others like your own have the knob. I think the "button-column" 864s are for sirens with voice capabilities, while the knobbed ones are for non-voice sirens. This is all just suspicion, but it's what I can assume after reading a BUNCH of wikis and articles.
This is incorrect. the 864 VLC Manual says Vortex Local Control. The Controllers for the ESC and VLC are Completely two different beasts. The Tone generators are also built different.
this siren could reach up to 126 dB. same as a 4M Thunderbolt 1000. 4M 1000s reach up 126 dB at 100 feet, while the 5M/6M 1000s can be 124 dB. the 1003 with 4M/5M blowers can be 124 dB at 100 feet, while the 1000T with a 4M can also reach 124 dB at 100 feet, but 6M 1000Ts can also be 126 dB at 100 feet.
Just get yourself a new subscriber! Is there any way you can do an in depth video on the radio side of this unit? I’m about to begin the efforts of obtaining a few 2910s and I’d love to have some more knowledge on the radio/DTMF control
