So many beautiful homes in detroit that is abandoned and derelict,it would be a crime to knock them all down,so glad to see them restored rather than demolished,keeping them is saving the history..

markyellowcake. . Do you live in the city? Have you ever been to Detroit? Please educate me. I live in the city near downtown. New and renovated homes and condominiums are being built farther and farther out each month. I live in an older reclaimed neighborhood that keeps getting bigger and better. We have our problems but the renovation and reclaim projects have held steady. Where do you live? We would like to post some nonsense about your town or are you afraid to confront someone from the city?
Six Mile I live in Detroit right now and I bought a house that was rough and redid it and I would be a little scared to confront someone because some people that live in the rough side of the towns aren’t to nice I’m sure if you would confront them they would pull out a gun. but there is a really nice side of Detroit but that’s really expensive because is a really big city and has lotta history.
Who's paying for this, and what are the terms for the new occupants? I don't see any links for it specifically at detroitmi.gov/Detroit-Opportunities. Are banks paying for these goodies and passing the cost on to depositors?
You are definitely paying for it ! It's all part of Trumps Make America Great Again campaign promise. It may be the only evidence in the country that it is working .

marcus goes. I live in the city and sit on the citizens planning committee. The latest study states that the population will stabilize at about 615k and then begin modest increases through 2030 to about 680k. Infrastructure and services planning shoots for that 680k target. Unless you are an urban planner I'm not sure where you came up with the 500k number. If you have the data I would like to see it. Or did you just extract it from your behind to be a troll?

Beavis Turdbburgler Look. I live here. I have worked my entire life in the city. I am the farthest thing from a hipster. The facts are simple to me. The city is in dire trouble. The quality of life including large pockets of viscious crime and drugs, a long history of poor management and ridiculous taxes, terrible schools and breathtaking decay. All of these are facts. So for those of us who refused to leave have a simple choice. Give up and cede the remnants of one of the greatest cities in the country to thugs and criminal politicians or stand and fight. At the end of the day things have gotten so bad that there is really only one direction to go. Up. A real comeback is underway. I live in a condo that was an abandoned ghetto only ten years ago. Today it is the home of three arenas, hundreds of new housing units, dozens of bars and restaraunts and numerous office buildings. The neighborhoods are still in shambles. In coming years these areas have to addressed. If the neighborhoids are not resurected there will be two Detroits. One populated by prosperous professionals and one filled by perpetual poverty.
the city are the oldest gang in detroit and just as useful to property owners in trouble. there aint no problem that selling out to the robber barons and foriegn slum lords cant fix.
