using the "dist" option you can make the full animation take a set time and the object will move at a constant rate

Also - all keyframes except for the first must be set to "ref only", only the first needs to be set to "dist" and it will use the duration of the first as the total time. The "even" option will make the time between each keyframe the same no matter how far apart they are.

Bottom left of the key frame menu there’s a box called “close loop”. It’ll automatically bring the animation back to the beginning without adding an extra frame. Useful for simple side to side or up and down

3:39 there is full animation easing, as shown in the animation trigger teaser 4:38 also, you don't have to specify the group ID in the keyframe triggers, just the main trigger that plays the animation. So basically, you usually don't even have to configure the keyframes, just plop them down and start copy/pasting

There is a tick box for 'close loop' in the keyframe item, so checking it on the last keyframe causes it to loop

@@Idontdementia just the last one. Also I think I did actually do it right, it just doesn't actually permanently loop the keyframe, just causes it to return back to starting position?

@@m4rcyonstation93 it does loop, but just once. a single loop is a loop after all. you would have to use spawn to permanently loop keyframe.

Wulzy btw on the final page of the pixel blocks, there are ½, ¼, ⅛, 1/16, and 1/32 blocks for spacing :)

Let me ruin every trigger for you: The slider button sprite has a different color background then the actual background, so every single button has like a slightly lighter square around it.

Id recommend using the "dist" options to make the animation smooth because it makes the time be calculated on the travel distance of each. Also if you check in between frames with ref only you can setup easings way easier

You can use the Ref. only checkbox to make the easing aplied to the whole animation instead of being aplied to every single keyframe movement

The fact wulzy doesnt have the advanced scale stuff on is crazy (minimum goes from .5 to .25 and maximum goes from 2x to 4x)

Hey Wulzy if you need to loop the animations, I believe close loop is the option for it (not sure why it’s called that, it’s confusing) but I’m sure that will loop your animation without you having to use the create loop button

you actually don't have to dupe the arrows to animate another object if they're gonna do the same. You can set the anim ID to two different keyframe triggers and group IDs and they will do the same. It's an absolute S tier for optimization.

if you want to use keyframes to make a certain path but dont want them to interfere in the easing, activate the ref only box. i usually make transitions and i use it very often. hope that helps :)

You can put a parent group in center to be radius of the circle and then rotate arrow.. They will choose their own direction Or also.. You can put 4 arrows tangent to the circle (looking up position right.. Looking left position up.. And so on (and vice versa if you want clockwise)) and then choose 4 and rotate them until enough objects are met (the more the smoother)

From my experience, keyframes are basically useless for more complex animation. Ive been working on a gd animation nonstop since the update dropped and I’ve come to realize a couple things that are incredibly disappointing with the system. First of all, keyframe objects cant be scaled up with the scale trigger, so if you want to have a keyframe animation scale up and down with a trigger, too bad, itll look wonky. Second, they literally do not work with warp scaling. They work if you just move the x or y values, but if you go any further with squashing and stretching it’ll give up and just not work. Very useful for super simple stuff but I’m incredibly disappointed you can’t go further…

in order to make a loop without breaking the flow of the curve, you can click the "close loop" button in the "setup keyframe #" menu

SpawnGID lets you spawn a group when the object gets to that frame. This can help to spawn the keyframe trigger to loop the keyframe.

you don't need to duplicate the anim for each group, just copy + paste the keyframe trigger (the diamond) and set the target id to the group that you want to move.

The arrows mean what way it will face, if you want to make something move but not rotate, make all arrows face up.

You don’t have to dupe the animation! The group id in the trigger is just for helping you build it. The only thing that matters is the trigger that spawns the animation!

I thought keyframes should just be named advanced move, but thinking again, it’s way more than just a better move trigger. It’s a combination of improvements made to different kinds of triggers so the movements are more alive and not close to being as laggy. I think it’s not going to be used a lot in the beginning of the update, because people will be kind of scared by the complexity of it. But I do think that It’ll be used a lot and that it’ll be very, very useful.

if you activate "close loop" in the bottom left, it will automatically connect a path between the last and first keyframe. this means you can loop the animation without a spawn loop 👍
