March to August. Dr George McGavin. More content than the usual BBC commissioned 'emotional journey'. A little over-easy on the photogenic panning, but good documentary. Part 1: ru-vid.com...
Am I the only one who worships the Oak? And who thanks, hugely, George McGavin for doing this revealing experiment documentary , honoring this most revered of tree species?
Anna Lisa I thank maudeeb for uploading this wonderful documentary. It should be required viewing in every school setting … particularly in elementary schools!
I used to sleep with the all the time, I was a homeless vagabond for years and after that I just liked living outside and travelling all around the US. There was a certain time when I was being harassed by folks in town so much (it sucked. Straight up stalking) on the street my mind and paranoia peaked up to Theta brainwave state, so your sleeping but listening to and aware of stuff around you in an odd way, but one time (and this may just be a coincidence) I was really peaked up on paranoia and went to my sleepimg spot where I had a tree a few inches below my feet and I swear I felt a warm radiation of about 2 feet coming off of the tree, like an warm energy, like heat radiation, but I only felt it so obvious that one night. I'm living in a house now but I often miss sleepimg im the trees or fields and having the stars as your ceiling, its a really great experience so long as you feel safe, it feels like home. Always better with friends. Just make sure you dont rush to wake up or get going, just kick back and relax and take it all in. Our whole earth is alive and all the life forms evolved from a shared ancestry, the symbiosis is beutiful the more you learn the science and than experience it intimately. Lol and right now I was just smoking a little bit of Mugwort and stumbled upon this awesome documentary. PS: have a good down sleeping bag rated for colder weather, a bivy sack, a decent pack (Kelty Redwing 50 is great) and friends and youll be fine
This is so sad, to see how mankind has lost touch. All you have to do is watch. listen and learn. Let go of nonsense that you don't need Don't kill bugs, watch them. Let them go. Encourage birds and watch how they communicate . This is what we have lost and why We are lost. We went off on some crazy thing and forgot the planet. Now we are paying for it. Our ancestors got it right, but they were dismissed as pagans, uneducated,.... Now we have to go back to square one. You don't need Selfies, and all the other nonsense . You need to Stop, Look and Listen. That simple. The key to life is just to BE. Live in the moment and appreciate what you have right now, because you will be Gone long before this Oak or his children. Stop striving for crap and appreciae what you have. DFo you really need another Selfie? The people who know you know what you look like and the rest of us couldn't give a F. Move on?
Well said. Unfortunately, as species we haven't lived up to our potential and at some point in our evolution we've take a wrong turn. What we're doing to nature, being oblivious of the fact that we're part of it and not above it, mostly has to do with the way our brain works (see The Master and his Emissary). One of the best examples of our oblivion, of our cognitive dissonance (apart from profit-driven deforestation where we literally work on our own extinction), is the way we treat other sentient beings (e.g. factory farming). It's sad, but that's what we've become...
