Andy Tidy continues his hunt for lost canals along the line of the Birmingham Canal, this time looking at the many basins which existed on the outskirts of Wolverhampton. Given the amount of archive material available for Wolverhampton this episode has been split into two parts.

I really enjoy watching your videos. Been cycling for years around the the black country area and didn't have a clue about the old abandoned buildings. very informative.

I used play around all of that area you documented in the late 70s and early 80s...we made fishing nets from our mothers old tights metal coat hangers and a bamboo stick out of grandads greenhouse...Hahaha memory lane for sure...thankyou

I am in awe of your enthusiasm for the history of this region. Or as our friends overseas might say, "simply ossum!"

Nice to see some of the old be refurbished into something new.. hopefully the 1890s old boatyard building will be a thriving building once again .. the new apartments along the canal is really nice actually

They have been built quite sympathetically - although the area is a bit of a concrete canyon from a boaters perspective.

Great vlog as always. I’m looking forwards to part two. I’m rather hoping that you look at the remnants of the train turntable down at lock 8 or 9 in what is now Fowler’s Park which I can find very little information about.

There is a circular gap in the trees exactly where it used to be: maps.nls.uk/geo/explore/side-by-side/#zoom=16.716666666666665&lat=52.5981&lon=-2.1234&layers=168&right=BingHyb
