Looks sick, can't wait to hear this thing run!. I own a colorado LWN 2.8 here in NZ, slowly stock piling parts for a rebuild. You are probably the only dude doing this stuff!.
I can't wait to fire this thing up! I know I'm not the first, and I won't be the last. Might be the only one to go this far with it. There's not a ton of info out there.
Probably the only guy doing this to a Camaro but the 2.8 is massive in other countries. Look into like the Thailand diesel drags they got some wicked stuff over there
Thanks for the update mate. The manifold looks like the engine makes way more power than it will 🤣🤣🤣 good to see you are still persisting with the R&D on the 2.8.
Wow you are very talented. You have way more patience than I do. You’re going to be putting some serious pressure on those pistons and rods and especially the crank. Have you thought about upgrades to those. How’s your truck doing? Any issues after the tuning?
Thanks man! The only off the shelf internal upgrades that I know of are the Carrillo connecting rods. I have a set now that will be going into this motor. Truck is doing great. 105k on it now. I'll be changing the timing belt and water pump this weekend if the weather holds up. Might finally put in the 60% injectors too.
Wow I am IMPRESSED by that intake manifold. That’s a beautiful piece of engineering there. Def tuning in to see where this build goes. How did you get inside the plenum to weld the bell mouth curve on the runners?
@@MogasFox3 Thanks for watching and tuning in! Simple answer, I welded the plenum on last. The plenum is just a 4" pipe with a slot cut down the length for the runners to poke through.
Gotcha, so you welded the runners from the outside, but the result of the external welding helped create some bell mouth shaping on the inside. Dude if you can make an intake manifold like that, you can make anything! 😎🤯
