I have a 97 Geo hatch, doing my first ever "DIY fixin'" (Rings, cylinder head rebuild). I really appreciate all your ideas on removing dodads that are not needed, or placed wrong (where they get in the way of normal service/experimenting)
On those two absolutely miserable to get on/off or even move the TBI around while working cuz of them being so short, multi wire grounds on the back of the TBI... I clear heat-shrink butt soldered(the ones that just need a little heat, even a lighter will work)2 electrical connectors and makes it so much easier than fighting with those 2 lil 10mm (i think) bolts. If you don't have electrical connectors handy, you can just slightly slot the ground lugs so you can just loosing and slip in/out real quick. Ive had a few Geo's over the last several years and I wished I did that the very first time I took the TBI off. Just a simple little diy upgrade that I love. If you have issues getting on/off those grounds.

After bringing "Bucee" back to life (my friend named it after her favorite convenience store), it's been interesting to say the least with getting on freeways with a slight incline. i'm going to do this mod to my g10A engine, i have a suzuki with a g10b engine, it's a alto , also called suzuki zen with a carb. im picking up a geo metro today, i want to swap that engine into the alto. it weights only 1500 pounds and the gearbox in it is a bit shorter than the geo metro, doing a carb swap and making a blow through setup with a amr 500 or a turbo would be quite unique in this car, no one has ever done a g10a swap before because most of them are going for 1.3 or 1.6 G series. But i'm crazy and i want to replicate a alto works in my own way.
I’d LOVE to buy a Metro Convertible in good condition, low mileage, 5spd. I’ve owned a 94 and a 96. My 94 was the better of the two. I bought my 94 in November of 93. I put 210K miles in only 2 years. I had to drive from Salem, OR to LA California and back every weekend, (my weekends were 3says). I Loved how reliable it was.
This is soo helpful. My little lady came home with a custom off road buggy sporting a 91 geo 1L and the computer seems shot plus the wiring is a mess. So I’m hoping to go carb and reduce all the excess crap it has. What would you say I should do to it to get more than aka stage 1 out of it?
I have an 1987 Pontiac Firefly (Chevy Sprint) I am always looking for some tips. Just had my carb replaced by a mechanic a few months ago with a stock rebuilt Aisan 2 Barrel from Rockauto.
I got a 94 metro same motor and i plan on carb swapping following what you did i believe the ecu is shot again and i’ve yet to hear the car run entirely on its on, so all i need to look into past a carb swap is that standalone ignition

I want to remove the tbi and install a carburator because my tbi insant working good and o dont find good parts to fix It. To install a carb i need to change something on the ignition or only turn off the wires in the tbi ?? Thanks!
You can just leave the factory ecm and ignition if you wish, I have a video for doing a Hei ignition in this series if you wanted to completely step away from the computer
