Hi Jim! Only having been to Mazatlan a few times I don't know the market there at all. There are lots of real estate agents there...just be sure that they are licensed and a member of AMPI. You can go on line with the State government to ensure that the license is valid and that there are no registered complaints against the agent or the company. Real estate law in Mexico is a LOT looser than in other countries, so best to do your due diligence and stay safe. Cheers!

One is the strengthening of the peso against the USD and the other is a 30% cost increase for concrete and metal over the past 2 years. Hi Daniel, there are some parts of Mexico that aren't safe, just like in any other country, but La Paz is a small town, only around 275,000 people. We don't have a "resort" minded tourist population, it's more nature/eco oriented. So yes, it's pretty quiet crime-wise compared to the big cities. We've owned our home here for 17 years and never had a break-in, been robbed, or felt unsafe. My husband dropped his wallet on a street downtown and had it returned to him with everything intact. Add to safety though...the food is amazing!

Hi Gloria, with a 200 m2 lot, it's difficult to retain the natural vegetation and still build a house. The comes in this project that have 400 m2 each retained a cactus and usually a desert plum (ciruella del monte). There are so many desert trails and hikes in the area, it is very rural!

Yes, those were very nice homes. All are sold now, but I may have some similar homes coming on the market next year. I'll let you know!

Since those homes were on the market, real estate in La Paz went crazy, prices went up in response to big increases in building materials and a very low inventory. Hi! As a foreigner, you wouldn't qualify for financing, and the purchase would be cash. Foreigners can qualify for loans here if they can show consistent and sufficient income earned in Mexico on which the have paid taxes here. Income earned in a foreign country doesn't qualify. Interest rates are around 14%, so not very attractive.

Hi, unfortunately not. You must show sufficient and consistent income earned within the country to qualify. The banks and finance companies don't accept income earned outside of Mexico.

Just get a 55k loan in the states pay it off monthly. People buy cars for that much and pay it off in 6 years.

Hi Mauricio and thanks for checking in! These home are in El Centenario, about a 10 minute drive to the major shops and 20 minutes from the centre of town on the Malecon. At this time there are no more homes like these...I wish there were because there is a need in the market. All of the homes have ocean view from the rooftop palapa terrace. You can build a palapa on the rooftop. Although these are sold, we are working with a developer to produce more homes under $100,000...I think the day has passed where a home can be built at less that $60,000. Hi Filiberto! The video you were looking at is over a year old and all of the homes at Casitas Cardenas are now sold. We had 3 models to choose from, and the prices ranged from $54,500 to $87,000. The homes were sold in pesos, so the rate of exchange from MN to USD varied the price a bit...some days higher and some lower. I don't have any more homes in that price range at the moment, but am working with a developer on a new community of 40 homes. The plans should be ready in a couple of months. Have a great day!
