Today I filmed a fully renovated village house in Cabeça de Eiras, in the Guarda District of Central Portugal, up in the mountains of the Serra da Estrela. Its also only 10 minutes away from a beautiful river beach called Sandomil in São Gião, which boasts a cute little restaurant and bar and is set on the Rio Alva river. The closest big town of Seia is only 30 minutes away with all the shops and amenities you need, and you can reach Porto in 2 hours, Lisbon in 3 hours, Faro in 5 hours, or travel to the capitol of Spain, Madrid, in only 4.5 hours.

I agree, that's the more reason I prefer my day to day investment decisions being guided by an advisor seeing that their entire skillset is built around going long and short at the same time both employing risk for its asymmetrical upside and laying off risk as a hedge against the inevitable downward turns, coupled with the exclusive information/analysis they have, it's near impossible to not out-perform, been using my advisor for over 4years+ and I've netted over 2.8million.

Central Portugal is really coming back to life as more and more people and families are moving back. In the past people left to go and study or work overseas or in the big cities. This seems to be changing now as a lot of foreigners and also Portuguese expats are moving here and fixing up old homes.

It's a nice property but as a village house it's being marketed at about double its real value....... unfortunately, in Portugal some people like to take advantage of foreign buyers......

@@lovelyday1965 of course, but some people wouldn't realise that it's way overvalued and would end up getting fleeced. I've seen it happen so often where foreigners get tricked into paying way over the odds or buy into some huge legal issue. And, no, having legal or other "professional" advice doesn't always mean you are protected.

Very nice place and surroundings. Tasteful renovations, no back breaking projects on the immediate to-do lists. I'd crack open a cold one and replace the black & white kitchen wall tiles with more something traditional, and that's about it

It is absolutely charming ! A-dorable ! So much natural lighting ! Love all the greenery ! It was meticulously maintained. It is perfect ! And very much a real value for the cost, for sure. I so wish I were younger, with more time ahead of me, to move there and really love and enjoy life and the beauty of our planet, right out the windows. Just a gem. A treasure. This property would be more expensive if it was in “Beira Baixa”. Yet again it’s so close anyway that people don’t even understand how good value for the money it is on the Guarda district 😊 and summers are not so stinking hot

I miss a bathroom and toilets downstairs. Wich could be made in the small bedroom. I would keep the toilet upstairs and change the old bathroom to the extra sleep room. Also I'd remove the gas installation. And make the small room a bedroom or office room. For me the biggest thing would be the garden size just to small for my dogs

According to TIMEOUT According to the Portuguese Institute for Sea and Atmosphere, (IPMA), the following regions have the highest risk in the south: Monchique, Loule, Sao Bras de Alportel, Tavira, Castro Marim and Alcoutim. Braganca, Castelo Branco and Guarda are all on red alert for extreme heat, and over half of Portugal is on maximum wildfire alert. Nineteen villages have been badly damaged by the fires, as well as 16,600 acres of land. The A1 between Lisbon and Porto has partly been closed.

Its interesting for sure. Worth noting is that in Portugal the price is always an "asking price" and not a "starting from" price, and it can be negotiated. Sellers can put whatever price they like on something, but it will only sell for what someone is willing to pay. Estate agents dont set property prices, its up to the seller to decide what price they want to put on a property.
