Glad to see you posting content. You make the best videos of site work than all the top quality content creators. Some of your best vids are scrapers with very talented push-Cat operators. Seldom are they at rest and the scrapers are NEVER waiting for a bump from the dozers. It’s a true schooling for grading contractors on time management and proper allocation of assets to maximize site efficiency. Living in SoCal, I can appreciate the unfriendly business climate so watching you thrive is warming. Keep up the great work and hope to see more quality videos in the upcoming year.
They are forcing the push cats to back up hill after loading a scraper those guys like third gear. If you loaded them at the top of the cut on an angle the push cats could return sooner to snag the next I worked for Fulton and ACI years ago just try it you guys were always smarter than me backing straight up hill just pulls those good pushers
I miss driving earthmovers I used to drive all sorts back in the day including motor scrapers but they were 631b and ts24 so not as big as these beasts. Thanks for sharing and take care 😉👍

Man I would love to come down there and get some first hand , Exp. not necessarily running a kidney killer but to watch and learn what I can , I was a 10L push and rip oper. so I got the just of that but to actually see Great Scrapper Operators and see it from there perspective , Great Vid keep em coming !
Back when I was a pup I worked as a heavy equipment mechanic for a construction company that had a dozen of 651 scrapers I forgot how large they were we climbed around on them like monkeys.
Can’t understand why the pushers are travelling back to start of cut every time? They should be working away from the batter/slopedbank across the width of cut in strips starting half way down (or enough length to fill box) next Scraper pulls in to left of last cut. The loaded scraper pulls away rear pusher then only has to travel about three length of his tractor then he’s already buttoned up ,then front (pusher from loadedscraper)comes behind as its already being pushed travels an even shorter distance. Once full width of cut is complete start again trying to cut by creating a forward slope giving more performance saving in fuel and time hope this makes sense . Love to know the cost breakdown of 2 dozers/pans vs excavator/dump trucks. I'm just counting operators, extra dozers ripping etc. I know it's all been worked out, but in my side of the country, you never see it done that way.
@@Bowiiihowdy 100% on the money.....unless it's a pure rock job there isnt any other hauling system you can move material with more economically than scrapers
@@dennisholst4322 we never pushed around corners either. We got our asses chewed if the pushcat had to chase us too far though. We did a lot of push-pull too.
The contractors rate them at 32 cubic yards because there are situations where they don’t get a massive load. A nice heaping load is probably closer to 40.
Both dozers should be ripping while pushing. Not deep though, 6n to 10 inches . It would really help production at the end of the day. Great post though.
It takes power to pull ripper shanks through the ground which means the push cats would not be pushing as hard and it would take longer for the scraper to get a load. Ripping a few inches deep is a waste. It’s better to have a dedicated rip dozer. It’s all about production.
@@davidwood1294 As long as the buggy is either loading or dumping with no interruptions the process is fuel and time efficient. I agree that a dedicated rip cat would help but there is generally no room on many sites to maneuver that many machines. Nearer to the end of the video there is a rip cat working and my hat is off to this crew for keeping all the machines working like a choreographed dance. Retirement sucks.
