Japan is so chock full of endless shades of light gray, popping red accents and sometimes dark green from the evergreen street vegetation. I am absolutely in love with that combination! When I first visited, I was totally overwhelmed because the everyday colors on the streets are so different from Europe ... even things like billboards, signs, trucks, etc ... the whole "commercial" color palette. Instantly pleasing to look at because of the novelty factor ;)

I like that all of your videos focus on 2-5 main points. I really enjoy your simple and clear communication of ideas and concepts. Thank you

Glad you like that. With recent fast paced short form content we think we can learn many things in a small amount of time but the truth is different I think. Some concepts and ideas juste need more time to be properly discussed 👍🏻

@@adriensanguinetti agree 👍 however short form content is also useful. It can surface interesting topics, ideas and inspire you for in-depth explorations. Both just tools, anyway 👍

This might be the best explanation of using foreground I've seen. Keep it up!

Your images have just been on a whole new level the last year or so. Every single video I watch I end up with misty eyes because your images capture the feel of Japan so well, and I miss it so much. They're inspiring in the most literal sense of the word. I can't wait to go back!

I don’t normally like the Dutch Tilt (I didn’t know it had a name before) but I really liked your explanation of it; especially the part about fitting more in the frame/improving composition when using a prime lens. Some of your tilted compositions were phenomenal and now I can’t wait to try it out myself! At the end when you said “There’s only one thing left to do” I thought you were going to say like and subscribe, but pick up your camera and try it for yourself is such a more wholesome message-and that’s just what I’ll do! Thanks for another great video. Also I’ve been to Inasa beach from 1:40. I need to go back and see if you have other shots from Shimane in your old videos!

I normaly don't like the dutch angle but love the one with the guy on his bike at 2:28 . Don't know why but makes me feel like I'm in his world where things move around him and he is standing still.

Lovely images, the tilts do seem like to give another dimension to them. Never really thought about the Dutch angle a ton, but seems like an interesting concept. I'll have to give it a shot in the coming weeks, thanks for the headsup!

tbh I dont usually comment on videos, but man, your channel is so underrated. Your work is amazing, your aproach to so many situations and your explanation for every point. I get so excited when you upload a new video!!

I usually hate Dutch angles, but you've provided some compelling photos for the argument that they can be used effectively. I think my dislike of them is when they are heavily overused, but maybe they are worth a chance if used sparingly. Nice vid/subbed.

The tilt is awesome. I have never thought of it this way before. It gives a kind of surreal dream like look to texture or geometric architecture shots like those tori gates ⛩ - and on the other hand it gives a certain movement to images with human subjects that makes the moment feel more fleeting, as if it was only a magical instant of life. It definitely feels more curious and intimate than without the tilt. 👏 I should really go out to shoot more and give more intentional attention to my environment. These compositions are fantastic. ✨
