Yep, that is something that seems to be unique to these Korean variety shows and part of why I enjoy them so much. They do an exceptional job of making the viewer feel like a part of the show and like each week they are reuniting with friends for an adventure and laughs. One got similar feelings watching shows like Family Outing, Running Man, Happy Together, or Invincible Youth with their ensemble casts as well. I wonder if part of this is that Korean society is somewhat regimented on age and seniority lines perhaps making it hard to build close friendships as easily as in some other cultures that are less formal. So TV shows like these consciously fill a niche helping people who maybe don't have lots of close friends have "friends" visit them in their home. I have read that is part of why so many Korean variety shows also focus on meals together and why mukbang broadcasts are so popular as for those who maybe feel social isolation or loneliness such shows give them a sense of dinner company or for those who are struggling financially they get to enjoy a nice meal with "friends" while eating their mundane daily diet. I'm thankful for these shows as even if you aren't Korean culturally, there is something universally human about the way these shows are filmed and presented that can help anyone who is experiencing sadness or a sense of social isolation.

samuraihei7 This was actually around April-May of 2011. Uhm Taewoong joined in March so this was just a little bit after. This show's been around since 2007. Hard to believe right?

kiyomi72 I know,right? and this is still by far my favorite korean variety show to watch. I think all of the seasons are great because there are always a mix of different personalitites which makes this show entertaining to watch!

samuraihei7 Indeed. I really do miss MC Mong though. He's a natural entertainer. Maybe I should go back and watch older episodes when he was still around.
