We gave a pair of designers with very different styles one day to completely transform the same folding lawn chair, turning one of the most familiar furniture items in the world into something more personalized and expressive. Furniture designer Alex Hsu operates with a thoughtful, playful and craft-focused philosophy while artist and furniture maker Lauren Verdugo describes her work as sculptural, functional, and sustainable.
