As someone who lives next to 2 noisy AirBnBs, I'm imagining the neighbors in the first story were just trying to scare the party people away. If you've never lived through it, it's hard to imagine how much of an intrusion it is to have a new set of vacationers next door to you every other week/weekend. I still live here, but I could see myself going down some pretty crazy paths to scare off the out-of-towners who don't give a crap if they disturb the entire neighborhood and prevent me from being able to enjoy being outside in my own yard.

Not excusing any creepiness or aggression on the neighbors part to scare the kids away, but that first story is giving city kids discovering people live in the middle of nowhere. They were disrespectfully loud and trespassed on that lady's property. There's an unspoken code of conduct when you live that far out but still within ear shot of others and the air bnb host needed to make that clear for visitors.

1) dude thought it was the police and if he stopped, he’d get nailed for a DUI. 2) if they stopped randomly in the water, that boat would over take them and possibly attack them. 3) contrary to what city folk think, the moon and stars exist. It’s not actually pitch black at night and the moonlight reflects off the water, so kind of hard to hide.

Pro tip: if you have a lot of valuables or money in your house, get a very secure safe and put it in a hard to find place, and then buy a cheaper, smaller safe and just put a small amount of money in it. A burglar is probably going to assume there's only one safe in the house, so get them to steal from the decoy safe instead of the main one.

People who play loud music, yell, and do all the other things I'm sure they were doing whilst drunk, at the dead hours of the night on a lake, is immature and disgusting behavior. As much as I hate to victim blame, the protagonists in these stories weren't completely in the right either. From what I've learned int the first story, don't get an AirBnb in a place that's so isolated and make a bunch of noise where you piss off everyone living nearby. In the second story, never flaunt your wealth in public, and always practice good safety precautions given how some very bad people can also be very smart.

The first story pissed me off. The writer sounds like a typical college kids that think the world revolves around them. Goes somewhere without doing research of who’s around you. Gets loud, annoying, and generally jackasses. Then when someone yells to ask you to lower the volume. They insult and be disrespectful to people that live there. If you go anywhere. Be respectful for who might be around and don’t be a jackass.

People are dumb. They should watch those Iceman documentaries. Kuklinski is a liar for sure, but the stuff he says is still true to a degree. He tells a story about how some college kids messed with him on a remote road and he followed them then executed all three of them. He may or may not have done it, but the fact remains that it's possible.

The first one was honestly probably a fucked up prank by the locals in retaliation for the groups loud and rambunctious behavior. Not that it wasn’t freaky, but I am almost certain that’s what was really going on, especially since their main goal was to drive you away

I have a scary story, it happen when I was out walking my dog a little back story on my dog she is a pittbull terrier but she have spot like a dalmation. So this man driving a tan pick up truck ask me what kind of dog she is, I didn't think of it as anything else beside him being courious, so I said a pitbull and then he drive off and made a U turn to go down our street and I turn to go down an another street he turn again but he didn't turn right like I did he turn left and so far I haven't see him or his pick up truck for a while

In the second story what I don't get is why would they threaten to shoot them when they need to know the safes password? If you think about it, if they were to shoot them, they won't be able to get the password and they end up getting nothing. Those men are dumb.

I'm guessing it's using the fear of the people being robbed. The people may not realize what you said, so they'd comply with the robbers. Also, I don't think the robbers would mind killing them regardless.

That last story was nuts. Those thieves completely got away with it. I wonder if they even had real guns, or if the guns were loaded. A lot of times they just aim to scare you without actually intending to kill. Still, it's a huge risk to take.

I think a GREAT idea for a 10-year anniversary special next year would be where fans can submit their favorite Mr. Nightmare stories of all time, and then the top 25(or some number around there) most popular/submitted stories would be put in one big mega compilation titled "The Mr. Nightmare Hall of Fame - 10th Anniversary Special" or something like that. Just a random idea I came up with lol

Story 2: That would be very scary to have an intruder be in the house with a gun or any weapon. I would think that there would be an alarm system for the house. However, I also believe that it wasn't activated that particular night as there were multiple guests and Jacob would not want one of them setting it off. That's been my reason anyways for not setting ours.

If you're travelling alone or with friends to a remote location, make sure you have self-defense methods. Whenever me and my buddies do something like what was described in story 1, I bring my gun. Me and my buddies have all taken self-defense classes also, it's REALLY important to know just how to defend yourself IF the need arises. Stay safe everyone!

If you are loaded then make sure that you have two safes(one that is heavy, very secure and well made that is hidden in a very hard to get place and the other is as cheap as it can get whole of not so important trash that looks like it might be important).

If you ever have valuables that need to be hidden get a big chest and place some type of flat board at the bottom over top any valuables you may need to hide to look like a false bottom and to make it more secure add some type of lining in the chest,so that the false bottom or any of the edges of the said bottom can’t be seen very easily.
