Someone had a good theory about Barney. One of the strangest things is in one episode a grandma recalls playing with Barney as a kid, who is clearly older than the backyard gang would be as adults. This means Barney is very much real in their world. Well the explanation was Barney is actually a genie disguised as a plush trex. The classical genie was not only a being that could grant wishes but also a figure of wisdom. The plush doll is like a genie totem, and in order to hide he is a genie is why he turns into a purple trex to then pass his knowledge down to the kids.

Those theories are very creative but they aren’t for me personally. I hate literally any “theory” that makes Barney some other entity than he actually is. It always just feels overly reaching and unnecessarily complicated lol But they are very out there for sure

I never mentioned it before but I started tearing up when I saw Kathy give Barney her teddy bear when I first saw it, just because of how sweet of a moment it was between Kathy and Barney in Barney’s Birthday 🧸🦖

The reason Barney And Friends lighting changed is simply due to evolution. Lighting was changing, for the better.

Do you think that only the kids can see Barney and the adults just see the toy but just go along with it since the kids are just having fun with their imagination and just using an imaginary friend to come up with a conclusion on their own? Like if anyone saw the kids playing, they only saw the kids playing with an invisible imaginary friend and the Barney doll is just the inspiration for the imaginary friend?

I’ve always seen it as them playing along like in the Season 2 episode with the grandparents, Derek’s Grandad goes “where’s Barney?” and Derek’s like “he’s..he’s right there dad..” and Barney’s the doll sitting on the stump I’ve always seen it as the parents believing in the game of make believe so hard they forget he’s a toy too LOL

@@HedgeOnStage and that’s why we never see barney frustrated or upset on his own, hes just an outlet for the kids to have someone listen to them and not judge them, just help them solve the problem when there actually solving the problem on their own.

Born in '99 as well grew up with seasons 4-9, did have one season 1 vhs, best manners I believe, and various gen 2 vhs tapes and two backyard gang vhs tapes, but the best part of 7-8 is young Selena and Demi, didn't really see 1-3 until Sprout was around but yeah I fell off the bandwagon in 2006 but I'll still watch some when I want nostalgia. The history behind it is cool tho, weirdly I was obsessed with Barney when I was a kid 😆😆😆,

The only thing I admire about the show is the kids growth. they all gotten so tall and older throughout the season. Some of them grew up in the late 90s around where I was born.

I remember when my mom gave me a vhs tape of Campfire Sing along. As it’s the one with the case has Barney’s current design. Since I was familiar with the iconic version which I grew up with the infamous Hit episodes and a couple of VHS and DVDs of the classic episodes. I thought it was weird how the logo, opening, and Barney’s design were different. Especially how Barney is more skinny and wobbly along with having a tongue. Despite this, I loved this episode as a little kid and made me want to go camping. The strange is that even though I have the 1996 case, the actual VHS is from 1992.

Season 2 bj is tall just like baby bop was way back in season 1 I agree with you on what you said on baby bop’s height on season 2 but bj height got reduced in season 3 just like baby bop.

Born in 1989 i grew up watching 1st 3 seasons i loved watching it all the time and i outgrow it at a young by the time I started elementary school and i stopped watching it cause I got more interest in power rangers and i also took a interest in anime franchise in elementary school

the series then continued to that park and caboose setting and adding Riff baby pop and bj's cus which means something happened a long the way which caused it to finally be gone from tv

I’ve always seen Barney as this mysterious entity that can magically manipulate reality to his whim but also requires imagination and friendship to survive Granted the younger me probably wouldn’t have used those exact words but it’s the right ballpark.

I don’t take requests but I don’t think an entire video on Barney Says would be all that substantial. There’s not much to say and I never liked the segment to begin with so I rlly wouldn’t have much of anything super exciting to say lol

hedge on stage that you are right about guest star in it that needed to be like formally of what the guest star do and their name because that always happens in the series yet joe Scruggs is famous in the 90s from the company that did Barney yet I agree with you that Barney needed to formally introduce joe Scruggs to his friends on what joe Scruggs do because that really important in season 2 in it’s series, but it’s just due to cutting it off or ran out of time for Barney to really truly introduce joe Scruggs after all because it would have meant for the episodes running time in 30 minutes anyway because if joe Scruggs isn’t famous and not working on the Hit entertainment company that did Barney that would have make sense for it being a song about stranger for it that there is a difference between famous guest star from the 90s that has A reason for Actually being on Barney and friends that just the Advice I wanted to say on it and still I agree with you on it that Barney needed to in a way introduce joe Scruggs in a way to Barney fans to get to know him more. You know hedge on stage that so true about those songs that wasn’t your favourite because it is season one that most Barney fans that somehow aware of lack of songs yet you are right about what songs are your favourite because it very important to it’s series and it is really important to pre-schoolers as well since Barney and friends are important to tech pre-schoolers through songs, but you are right about the lack of some songs because it’s just very noticeable that doesn’t tech it yet milk is heathy and you are really right about it not everything can be a song it’s more on how it very noticeable to be a song if it doesn’t tech anything. Hedge on stage I really appreciate your thoughts on the Barney Special that it’s True, but at the same time min Actually did that blowing on the shell Also means that the new song is based of it and besides if min pick the shell that she blows in it means that there is a difference in between the new song of the special and a TV series as well because it’s noticeable to see it from the special itself so I just wanted to just let you know to clear some confusion of it. Barney’s Backyard Gang trademark was cancelled. Barney and Friends Season 1 was also cancelled briefly before backlash brought the show back. These are both mentioned in their respective portions of the reviews/segments they are brought up in.
