Big fan of this. Just want to say thank you to whoever brought this idea up among the team (and those that approved it!) It's one thing to visit in person but with regard to consuming digital content, many many people love the aquarium for atmospheres like this - beautifully represented by the jellies and lofi. If I can't visit and visit these critters in person with relaxing music and a coffee, at least I can do it from home for the time being. So thanks!
Sorry about replying to an old comment, but this is an excellent idea for an Aquarium to open a coffee shop. A wall of jellies are animals that wouldn't get stressed by human presence and this excellent music along with good food and coffee. :)
I went once as a kid and the memory held firm as some of the best hours of my life. Their social media team is EXCELLENT, but the aquarium is so wonderful that once you've gone once, it's unforgettable. I hope you get a chance to visit!
These are old videos and I don't think they are uploading these any more, but I want to see one with garden eels. They are super cute and very peaceful. I love seeing them at my local aquarium, their nature is shy but once they warm up to you they are super curious little things.
Awh I had that happen in about 2nd, my small school went there and spent the night, you could just hear the waves and ocean sounds, it was so peaceful, I loved it so much, this is why I want to live here
Thank you for posting this! I'm up near San Francisco, and I'll be passing by Monterey on a road trip later this summer. Wish I could drop by and see you. Once this pandemic is over and everything reopens, I'll have to come back!
I’ve been to this aquarium once ever, and I spent a large portion of my time there in front of this tank. The beauty and serenity had me near tears, and I think about it several times a week. One of those jellyfish is my lock screen on my laptop now :) thank you guys for all the work you do, it is so life changing
Is this video being presented upside down or are all the jellies swimming that way? I ask because not one of those specimens are swimming with their 'bell' in an upright position.
Great observation! The jellies are swimming against the current in the exhibit. The pulsing of their bell creates water currents that whip food into their frilly mouth-arms, so you're seeing them acting out their natural against-the-current-to-swim-toward-the-plankton-pie that they would do in the wild!
This is the view I've always dreamed of since i was a kid. Sitting in front of the nettles at this aquarium with no one else around and just watching them. I could sit there from opening until closing. Obv i cant do that irl because other people should get to see them too, they're stunning, but i suppose this is the next best thing
I’m taking Marine Biology this year so I’m learning ALL the fun facts...we finished our Cnidarian unit a few months ago. Thanks for giving me something to enjoy this deeply!
I absolutely love the monterey with all my ❤ can't wait to go back. Favorites the deep sea with the jelly fish. The ambient music they play down there is so calming
This makes me so happy and relaxed. I miss visiting the exhibits and experiencing so much glory. Needless to say, I look forward to coming back. I hope all is going well over there.
I haven't been to the Monterey Bay Aquarium in years. I've since moved to Southern California. I used to be a member and had a lot of good memories there. I've got to go back. Thank you for this!
Yall legit got me to put u on my bucket list because of your amazing social media outlets and content- and because of the amazing environmental work yall do ofc haha
If only I'm on the other side of the world to see this.❤️ Will definitely look up nearby aquariums in my country after the pandemic haha! Love from Asia, those jellies are gorgeous.✨
@montereyaq and @chillhopmusic - two great tastes that taste great together! Wait, that was a candy commercial. But so true. Thanks, my hometown "Cetacean Institute" (haha :) )
Really loved this place! I went for my Junior's Scholar's Trip in high school and loved seeing those jellies. Lots of great memories. Can't wait to go back and see my brethren lmao
