When I worked in GEC turbines 50 years ago we used this sort of cutter on the Herbert 9B turrets lathes we called them Twin bits but I think he should have balanced the cutter so that it was cutting similar amounts on either edge of the tool it

Great stock removal with a properly sharpened tool and yes I'm sure I saw a chip breaker to roll those chips off. This is some very impressive work. Thanks for posting. 💪
