Certainly took me down memory lane I started with a gat gun then got a milbro rifle for Christmas about 12 years old Fixed sights and nothing got away which now I'm not proud of I'm 66 now and have loads of guns of different configurations but love my hw80 Proper gun Thanks Shane Enjoyed that ❤
Nice rifle! The pump action rifles that you mentioned were probably the Crosman 766 ( 177 ) / 2200 ( 22 ) it took 10 pumps to get them to their full power, I got a second hand 766 for my 12th birthday £30 with a 4 x 20 scope! A friend's dad invited me to take it round to his garden to pit against his 22 rifle, he was actually stunned ( and disappointed lol ) that my 177 could penetrate chipboard further than his 22, I always opted for 177 when buying a new gun, but back in the day, everyone and their aunt would say to get a 22 because it's more powerful!
Do get a 35 mate, the opening and closing is like a Bentley and a pleasure on its own. I've just bought a 99s myself so good luck with yours, they are a lovely light and well made gun.
The HW35 is a brilliant air rifle. I wish I had kept mine. It was so easy to shoot . I also had an Original 45 in my collection and a Webley Vulcan. The 45 was a great rifle if you could handle it very accurate but a large rifle. The HW 35 was a little less powerful than the 45 but was really nice to shoot. The Webley Vulcan was a real work horse with a nice action but had a single pull trigger (did not really bother me) and a break barrel that could suffer from misalignment of the scope fitted. I remember an adaptation with which you could put a pistol scope where the rear sight was on the Vulcan to help with this. Anyone remember?
Good to see you again great choice of gun had mine for 10years and still going strong in 177 replacing spring . piston seal and breech seal Good as new . I'm 64 triple heart bypass rattle with all meds but still kicking and enjoying my second chance. As always take care and look forward to seeing your next review 😊❤
Thanks for your very kind words , how ever much life throws at ya , somehow ya gotta keep smiling and kicking , you take care , and I should have another video in the next wk , bought another gun to sort of review , pcp this time , cheers shane
Great present for your Birthday . With regards to the cocking effort , I noticed that you were holding the barrel midway down its length. Try giving it a sharp tap on the front sight with your palm and then hold it there to cock it . The leverage is far better 👍
Hi Shane, ive beet you by 10 years in 70 , my first air rifle was a bsa airsporter in .22 , i got it when I was about 15 , after saving my paper round money for months, nice to reminisce , when you can remember things , senior moments abound at my age , nice rifle by the way , 😁👍
Thanks Phillip, I had a super meteor , I remember at some point , and a Webley, but cant remember what model that was , cheers for the comment and watching , since this video , I have bought another rifle , this time a pcp, that I’ve never owned , Sonwatch this space ,,, take care buddy , Shane
Hi Phillip, I am also 70 years young and I too had a BSA Airsporter .22 back in 1968! Got me into lots of trouble! 😀. Cracking gun tho, had mine for many years.
@@urbanfox53 yep know what you mean, when i had my air sporter a "mate " of mine said your air rifle is crap, i bet whoudn't reach that house , he was wrong, learnt how to run quite fast that day ,😂🤣👍
That break barrel takes me right back. I used to have a HW77K with the under lever that made the end of my thumb sore after a few shots on the little release catch.
Makes sense , but I don’t see the gun, as a bench rest type gun , with its light weight , I’ll get in touch with Hull Cartridge and see what they say, I’m sure if anyone nos ,,, they will ,,, cheers Shane
hello Shane nice rifle and Happy B-Day! my first rifle was a Webley and Scott Stingray .22 many moons ago and the cocking effort was pretty tough. I still have it but ordered a Beeman R7 for some easier cocking/shooting, I'm 74, retired and like you, a backyard shooter. that was some good shooting from those iron sights!
Fantastic rifle. I’ve got the 80, 95 and 99s. The 99s gets the most use, love the lighter weight and slimmer forestock. Also I find the most consistently accurate of the three.
Happy birthday Shane for last month. Good to see you back making another video. Good luck mate. Stay away from the blue rinse brigade there nothing but trouble. Regards Mick
Nice to see you return Shane, your catalogue of health issues I thought you were reading my chart haa I've followed you since you had videos of the xs 38 did you ever find a pellet it liked ? . All the best Be watching you soon Cheers mark
Thanks for watching buddy, xs38 I believe went back to the shop , as it started making a funny bell ringing sound on firing, according to the shop they had a lot of returns from that batch of guns, so I got my money back and no longer have it , cheers Shane
You won't regret it if you get a HW 35 have a look around see if you can get a " jubilee " or one of the other special runs HW have produced over time , good video thanks stay well 😊
