Michigan vs East Carolina Highlights (East Carolina vs Michigan) | 2023 College Football Highlights. Michigan Football and East Carolina Football played in week 1 of the 2023 College Football Season.
Covering sports in a unique way since 2018.

The best part of my work as a RU-vidr is being able to provide coverage of sports that may not receive as much attention as they should to the large audience I have built over the years. Many of the sports I cover aren't posted by any other RU-vidrs, which makes this channel that much more important.
One of my favorite accomplishments is revolutionizing the way sports channels create thumbnails. I've adopted two different styles, one with logos on the left and a game snapshot on the right, and the other with the logos in the middle and game snapshots representing both teams on either side.
I have a combined 4 years of experience as a Baseball & Basketball Play by Play announcer, which is where I learned my skills for commentary/breakdowns.

JJ looked terrific. Mechanics, decision making, and accuracy were all great. Looked much improved from that perspective. Loved the passing game. Offense looked more crisp than last year. Loveland looked good. Loved to see Corum and Edwards on the field at the same time and even though they didn’t do much with it, that will be big later in the season. Edwards looked great catching passes. Loved how stout the defense was when it mattered, especially the first string through the first 3 quarters. My two criticisms are that I really found the run game underwhelming, but I hope that has a lot to do with the OC/Oline coach being suspended and Kirk being more familiar with the passing game. Second, they got pressure on the QB that caused incompletions and mistakes, but no sacks and when he scrambled, got some solid gains. That could be worrisome against better comp. Other than that, I like the fact they got 2nd-4th stringers some game reps instead of padding stats. Developed a lot of depth this game, which will pay off later.

Everyone showed something today, though nobody collected a sack. The defense did their job though. This game was so close to being 37-0. I wish the Pirates best of luck but this was a dominant performance by Michigan, as expected.

Refs screwed us on at least 2 of Michigan’s TDs but at the same time it’s Michigan and they probably would’ve scored again either way. Still if we weren’t going for it on fourth down a ton at the end of the game it could’ve been 30-9 which makes me happy as the 81st fbs team vs the 2nd

Your defense held up better than I expected to.. JJ definitely had to make some pretty tough throws and scramble around a little bit too. ECUs d line is definitely a stronger part of the defense

Despite that it's only the first game of thr season. McCarthy looks like he's significantly improved on his passing over the off season. That was his biggest problem last year as he, especially in the later part of the season kept over throwing his receivers, even those who were wide open, but we'll see how much it pays off in the later season this year.

It wouldn't have made any difference, but Michigan's first TD should have been disallowed. The QB was completely past the line when he threw the ball. It was definitely an illegal forward pass. Michigan would have scored in the next 2 or 3 plays anyway, but it was a bad call by the refs.

To me Wilson looked a lot like Ronnie Bell today. Very reliable. But he has more speed than Ronnie so the potential is there for a big season. I also loved seeing Loveland use his height to go up and get some passes. He will be very difficult to cover.

Kicking is a major concern. Offense other than that is fine. Dont forget HC and OC weren't there and DC was taking on HC duties. Playbook today was very vanilla. Will probably open up more next week.

Sure he drilled a 50-yarder, so he's got power, but it looks like he's prone to shanking half of his kicks from any distance. Going from the best to whatever this is, is a huge problem, and has the potential to cost them a game(s)

Was kinda disappointed I know it’s the first game but I was expecting us to be better. Wish they actually tried in the 2nd half. I hear your concerns but honestly the Buckeyes stopped our run last year in the first half and we torched them with three long TD passes no one in the country thought we could do. IF JJ goes down, Harbaugh will really go all in on the run game lol!
