2:17: The absolute peak of comedy here when "created by Vivienne Medrano" flashes on screen SO fast it's easy to miss. *chef's kiss * The spite of Viv living her best life and creating fucking ART in the face of haters is REAL and BEAUITFUL. They definitely planted the "Mammon is an absolute piece of shit" flag loud and EARLY. Like, this show is full of characters that, while they are definitely garbage fires, or straight up antagonists (like Striker, who I am 100% expecting/hoping to get an episode about, one that reveals his backstory and WHY he has so much rage, and I'm expecting to have my heart broken. "Some of us have hard lives to live. And some of us have everything we care about taken away..." ) they can be viewed with some level of sympathy or understanding, even if their behaviour is, well, demonic. :p It's something I absolutely appreciate about this show, how the audience is given credit for being able to handle characters and relationships that DON'T have a "correct answer". I've seen some amazing discussions around Blitz and Stolas for example, and there are entirely valid arguments on both "sides" that can exist AT THE SAME TIME. There are a whole LOT of hurt people hurting people as well. We're meant to feel a little conflicted about most of these assholes, but enjoy hanging out with them as an audience and watching their story. I mean, MOST of the main characters fall into that category. SO ANYWAY, I love that with Mammon they've really just said "No. None of that nuance shit. Here is one whole entire piece of shit. You may hate this guy with no remorse. " Having a handful of truly unsympathetic characters also really lets the nuance and layers of all the other characters shine, too, because yeah, Blitz is shitty, but compared to Mammon he's a goddamned angel. I love so much about this episode.
LITERALLY THOOOO!!!! Like there's some shining moments with any other character to kind of give them a glimpse of hope. Mammon tho??? NAHHHHHHH Irredeemable POS! I did catch him in the Trailer for the 2nd half of Season Two so I am VERY nervous for when he's going to pop back up again. Full Moon and Apology Tour have came and went so now we gotta wait till October...its gonna be a long 3 Months....
